By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Dr._Larry_A._Johnson,_D.C.] Dr. Larry A. Johnson, D.C. What should you do when you have a tension or a migraine headache? What should you do when you are experiencing chronic pain? Take a pain pill, right? WRONG! Most people don't have a second thought when it comes to taking analgesics for their chronic headaches or other assorted aches and pains, but research from the St. Louis University School of Medicine demonstrates that "analgesic use seems to be the primary factor in promoting the development of chronic pain." It was found that painkillers, instead of helping relieve the chronic pain, can actually be the cause of it. "The best thing a person with chronic headaches can do is get off the painkillers," says Paul Duckro, associate professor of psychiatry at St. Louis University. "In our studies, two-thirds of the chronic headache sufferers benefited from the withdrawal of medication." Two-thirds of the chronic headache sufferers not only did not get rid of their headaches with the medications they were taking, but increased their severity through the use of analgesics. "Evidently, at a certain point in a chronic sufferer's intake of analgesics (including aspirin, ibuprofen, acetaminophen and the stronger narcotic painkillers), the headache becomes drug-induced. In an irony of biology, a substance intended to reduce pain becomes a factor in producing it." Ibuprofen is the "pain-relieving" ingredient in Advil, Motrin IB, Nuprin and many other headache medications. Acetaminophen is the active "painkilling" ingredient in Tylenol. You should be aware that these popular medications may be hindering your recovery from your chronic headaches. And even worse, the medications that are supposed to be relieving your pain may actually be the cause of it. According to Duckro: "The person takes some aspirin, but the pain increases. So the person takes some more aspirin. Then the person begins to take aspirin in anticipation of the pain, thinking, 'If it's this bad when I'm taking medicine, it's going to be unbearable without.' Gradually, the person - and it's more often a woman - gets a headache whenever the medicine is not being taken." (Duckro is director of St. Louis University's Biobehavioral Treatment Center, which has its own headache management program). Dr. William Bennett, head of nephrology at Oregon Health Sciences University, estimates that over-the-counter painkillers are responsible for as many as 20% of the 125,000 cases of end-stage kidney disease in the United States. All drugs have side effects. These can include dizziness, lightheadedness, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, liver damage, kidney damage, internal bleeding and many other symptoms including death. We have always known and recognized these possible negative consequences from ingesting drugs (unless we don't read the labels), but we continue to take these analgesics by the mega millions with the hope of relieving our pain and discomfort. There is no guarantee that if we take a pain pill for our chronic migraine headaches, stomach aches or other types of pain it will actually eliminate the pain. There is also no guarantee that we won't experience unwanted reactions to the drug itself. But when the pain gets so bad we often decide that the possible relief outweighs the risk associated with the analgesic. But what most of us do not realize is that there may be one more consequence from taking medication for chronic headaches. We may find that the analgesics are actually the cause of the symptoms, that without them we wouldn't be having so many headaches. If you suffer with chronic headaches you may find that the pills you are taking are actually inducing your discomfort. And you may also discover that when you stop taking the medication you begin to experience fewer chronic migraines. After all, according to the director of St. Louis University's Biobehavioral Treatment Center two-thirds of the chronic headache sufferers benefited from the withdrawal of medication. Dr. Larry A. Disabled In Debt
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Michael_Challiner]Michael Challiner Disabled people have lower incomes but often have extra costs associated with their impairment. This situation drives two out of five disabled people to seek loans and other forms of credit to meet the demands of higher living costs on a below-average income. The result is that many people are being driven into problem debts, which are often loans they are left unable to repay. The Leonard Cheshire disability charity is calling on the UK Government and the credit industry to help alleviate the burden of this debt. A survey by the charity found that nine out of 10 of people found themselves running out of money on a regular basis. It also found that more than half did not earn enough to meet their basic needs and were on incomes of less than 10,000 a year. Many also found it nearly impossible to change jobs or careers in order to earn higher, more appropriate incomes. Almost 40 per cent of those surveyed were dealing with existing debt by taking on more borrowing. However, most also said that lenders were not very flexible when discussing repayments and showed little understanding of the way their disability affected their daily lives. Leonard Cheshire said: "Whilst easy access to credit is part of the problem, for disabled people a significant amount of debt comes from essential purchasesthis leaves disabled people particularly vulnerable to spiraling debt which they have little prospect of clearing." The disability charitys report also documented the effect debt was having on people's well-being. It found that most felt that it was having a negative impact on their health and another 12 per cent said that they had contemplated suicide because of concerns over their financial situation. While problem debt is often associated with over-spending on luxury goods, Leonard Cheshire said that disabled people are borrowing to cover just their cost of living which is often much higher than their incomes plus the benefits they might receive. Many disabled people have additional costs relating to their impairments for things such as electric wheelchairs, stair lifts and other home adaptations including extra heating costs and personal care that is not normally available through the NHS. Leonard Cheshire is urging the credit industry and the UK Government to make a number of changes, including: Making responsible lending a legal requirement which all lenders must comply with
Showing on the loan statements how long it would take to clear a the lending with the minimum monthly payment
They want talks with the lenders to persuade lenders to be willing to write off debts when a customer becomes registered disabled
Lenders being prohibited to raise a customers credit limit unless the customer specifically requests it. The charitys survey also found that living with high levels of debt often worsened a disabled person's sense of exclusion. The situation is unlikely to change while so many disabled people already rely on benefits as their main source of income. It also highlights the necessity for the Government to review the level of benefits available for the disabled. If they genuinely cannot survive on the money being provided, then more money must surely be found. Interviewing Skills: Presentation of Your Work History
By Virginia Bola, PsyD Your work history becomes a key focus in a job interview, usually right after the requisite pleasantries of whether you had difficulty finding your way, comments about the traffic and weather, and an offer of coffee or water. As you settle back in your chair, trying to look a lot more relaxed than you feel, the interviewer picks up your resume or application and starts to ask for details about your prior experience. If you have a resume that specifies quantifiable results, now is your chance to expand on that. If you increased sales by 20% per quarter or completed a departmental reorganization that resulted in a budget reduction of 10%, you are on your way. Obviously such achievements outlined in your resume impressed the potential employer enough to call you in for an interview, so your amplification of the details of actions you took will be eagerly welcomed. Unfortunately, most of us perform work where the results are less obvious. If you have worked in production or customer service or retail, it is very difficult to tie your efforts directly to company results. In such a case, try to highlight any personal successes or management recognition that demonstrates your competence. Any promotion is excellent, even if only to a lead position or being put in charge of a special project. Describe what you did so that the interviewer can appreciate your prior employers belief in your ability to take on new responsibilities. If no promotions were made (often none are readily available), identify any situations where you were singled out for recognition. That may range from being employee of the month to being asked to train new coworkers or receiving a written or verbal recommendation from a customer you assisted. If you received positive feedback from supervisors, describe the details. While each job applicant tries to represent themselves as a super-achiever, the fact remains that many of us work quite competently for years without ever receiving a genuine promotion or even much recognition. Employers are aware of that. In fact, if the position is routine without much room for upward mobility, they may be wary of an over-achiever who is going to chaff against the lack of promotional opportunities. One of The Apprentice applicants looking for work in a manufacturing environment would be viewed with more than a dose of suspicion. If such is your case a good solid worker (or even somewhat marginal), find some personal strengths to describe. If you seldom take sick leave or have a reputation for always being on time, now is the time to focus on that. Perhaps you take off time whenever you can and run perennially late, bring up another aspect of your character such as an ability to work as part of a team or outstanding relationships with coworkers (those jawfests around the water cooler or the three beers after work with your cronies, complaining about the management monkeys you have to tolerate, are finally a positive reflection on you!) If you have worked for one employer for an extended period of time, you dont have to stress your stability, the interviewer already knows that. Instead, concentrate on answering the unasked questions in his mind, his fear that you are set in your ways. Stress your flexibility and desire to learn new skills and procedures. If you changed departments or job title or responsibilities during your long tenure, give the details and how well you adapted to change. If your work history is varied with many jobs for short periods of time, explain how much you learned from each separate job and stress your current desire to blend your experiences into a long-term, stable career. Describe how you are looking for a company where you can hunker down and commit for the long haul. It may take you some time and self-exploration to identify it, but there are always some aspects of your work history that carry a positive spin. Dont be afraid to dwell on your strong points no matter how unimpressive you fear your prior jobs may seem. How To Make Your Relationship Succeed (Part 2)
By Dale Mazurek Hello everyone. By no means do I profess to be an expert in relationships but the one thing I do have is a very successful marriage of twenty years. Through those years my wife and I have had to work through several trials and tribulations. We could have very easily given up but the both of us took our vowels very seriously. That hard work has brought us to a point in our relationship where we know everything will be just fine. I will share with you some of the small things that have helped us to make our marriage last. This is part two of a small three part series. 9. It is so important not to keep things bottled up inside you. This will just build resentment and lead to the biggest fight imaginable. You need to express your problem and then ask for help with the answer. 10. If you think punishing your partner for something stupid they may have done your just asking for trouble. It will make them fight back even harder. Your best off to ignore the things you dont like and praise them for the things that make you happy. 11. Here is the biggest reason people fight. MONEY Yes thats right. Finances are the number one reason for the biggest fights around. Both of you have to learn to be open about money. When you work on the budget it has to be both of you involved equally. 12. House work isnt just for women. The work around the house needs to be divided up evenly. This means children and yes hubby has to have an even share as well. 13. Something else that needs to be spit up and that is child care. Hubby has to be involved in changing diapers and feedings as well so that mom can take a break. 14. Dont let your sex life disappear. There are going to be ups and downs in your sex life but as soon as either one of you see it going down make sure you start working to bring it back up. Dont let sex turn into an argument. 15. I am not advocating having an affair but if one does happen you should still try and work things out. Figure out why it happened and see if it can be corrected. A mistake doesnt have to be the end of a lifelong commitment. 16. Remember if you are bored with your spouse then you are probably angry about something so you should be asking yourself what you are angry about. These are very simple tasks to put into place and follow. I cannot guarantee these will make your relationship perfect but if the relationship was meant to be then these will just show you that much sooner. Will Drug Price Negotiations Really Ever Occur?
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Cathlene_Martinez] Cathlene Martinez Since the Democrats have taken control of the House, the word around town is that Nanci Pelosi is going to shake things up. First on her itinerary, to allow Medicare to negotiate with drug manufactures the price of it purchases its prescription medication. Although this should bring the cost of Medicare down, will this lofty goal ever materialize? Recently, the United States House of Representatives passed a bill with a vote of 255 to 170. If that bill becomes a law, this would allow drug prices to be negotiated by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. Opponents of the bill argue that interference with the current system will decrease the amount of competition in the market, driving current prices even higher. While both sides battle it out, the consumers are stuck in the middle, destined to pay the high, ever-increasing cost of prescription drugs that is rising at more than double the rate of inflation. Will the bill make it through and take away the high cost healthcare burden placed upon senior citizens and the beneficiaries of Medicare? No. Odds are the bill will not make it passed the veto promised by the president. As goedwardsville.com points out, we hope it will at least allow (not necessarily mandate) for price negotiation on the part of the federal government, in the event private insurers and manufacturers fail the public's trust and prices continue to skyrocket. goedwardsville.com also points out that a recent Kaiser report states that 80 percent of Americans favor allowing price negotiations with prescription drug manufacturers in order to drive down the cost of Medicare. The Last Line of Defense Against Medication Errors: What You Need to Know to Keep your Family Safe
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Timothy_McNamara] Timothy McNamara This is a true story. Yesterday, I picked up a new antibiotic prescription for my daughter from my local pharmacy. (We recently adopted my daughter from India where she had recurrent ear infections resulting in severe hearing loss. And, she is about to undergo the second of several planned surgeries in order to try to repair the damage.) Before putting her to sleep, I got the new medication out of the bag, glanced at the instructions, and prepared to give her the drug according to the instructions on the label. Just before doing so, I had a quick double-take. Something seemed to be wrong. I looked at the instructions again, and thought to myself slowly, *What*s going on...this doesn*t seem right.* Then, it hit me that the dose seemed awfully high for her. It took me a minute or two to put the pieces together (it had been an unusually tough fight getting her ready for bed, I was tired, I was confident in my daughter*s physician, and I was thinking perhaps less critically that I should have). And then I noticed it. The label had a stranger*s name on it. After another moment or two, I saw what had really happened. The medication came in a box. Each side of the box had a different label...one label was for my daughter and one label was for a stranger. And, the stranger*s dose was more than double what my daughter*s surgeon had recommended. (This error didn*t happen in a mom-and-pop pharmacy. It happened in a modern new chain pharmacy whose name you would recognize from advertisements on TV.) I*m not a surgeon...and I*m not a pediatrician...but I am a physician trained in internal medicine and I have spent most of the last twelve years writing about, speaking about, and developing systems to reduce the frequency of medication error and improve the safety of pharmacy practice. This pharmacy error brought the topic of drug safety home to me...literally. What I can tell you is that this sort of error occurs all too often in the United States (and around the world). And, that it can have devastating consequences for the people involved. A recent study in the New England Journal of Medicine indicated that 25% of patients who take one or more prescription medications will experience an adverse drug event within three months-and 39% of these are preventable or avoidable. The Harvard Medical Practice Study found reported in JAMA in 2001 that 30% of patients with drug-related injuries died or were disabled for more than 6 months. And, what almost everyone who studies this problem agrees is that current systems for selecting drugs, dosing them, communicating a prescription to a pharmacy, dispensing drugs, and instructing patients on their safe use are woefully inadequate. In this series, we are going to take a close look at the processes that cause medication errors (some things that your physician and pharmacist may not even want you to know) and what steps you can specifically take to make sure that you and your love ones are protected from this hazard. Ten years ago, your ability to get current, objective, reliable information on your medications in a quick and easy way was practically non-existent. It probably would have involved a trip to the library and required considerable knowledge about pharmacology to get the answers. Today, that*s not the case. There is a host of on-line tools, databases, and resources that allow you to learn information about medications that even your physician and pharmacist may not know. We*re going to talk about them, show you were to go, tell you the key things you need to know about medications, expose some myths, and let you know the questions you should be asking. It*s not as hard as it may seem. In fact, you need to become the final line of defense in the battle against medication errors. Throughout, we are going to give you some key rules that should guide your defense. So, Rule Number 1. Trust, but verify. Never assume that the medication you have received is the right medication for you or that it is dosed correctly for you. Specifically, you should check: the name of the patient on the bottle; the name of the doctor on the bottle; the name of the medication (and cross check it to be sure that it treats a disease or problem you actually have... there are lots of look-alike/sound-alike drug names out there); the dose (from an independent source...to make sure that it is a plausible dose for you); the *route* (to make sure, for example, that eye drops are being prescribed for the eye, and not the mouth, or the ear...amazingly injuries from drug misplacement occur all the time); the expiration date. We*ll talk about some specific resources that will help with each of these throughout this series. The result, we hope, will be the piece of mind to know that you and your family are getting your 7 rights: right drug; right patient; right dose; right time; right route; right reason; right documentation. Right on! 2004 Timothy McNamara, MD, MPH About The Author Timothy McNamara, MD, MPH is a nationally prominent expert in medication safety and healthcare technology. The Fountain of Youth
By Terri Emmett The fountain of youth has always been the most sought-after yet illusive pursuit of man. Does it truly exist? Yes, it does, but not in a tangible form. The fountain of youth is an attitude, a way of thinking, and a way of life. The biggest thrill of childhood was the anticipation of joy and happiness yet to come in your life. Natures progressive order of growing up was inborn in our conscience: o Get an education
o Get a job
o Get married
o Raise a family of your own
o Retire and live happily ever-after Having so much to look forward to in getting older was what made childhood so exciting and full of wonder. Occasionally people reach a stage in life when the thrill of optimism and joy of expectation of these highly anticipated milestone events seem to have been replaced with a ho-hum existence, sprinkled with disappointment after disappointment. This is commonly known as a mid-life crisis. Life automatically has its bumps in the road and everyone experiences the entire emotional gamut in varying degrees. Frustrations, worry, depression and disappointment ultimately take their toll and low self-esteem is most often the individual result. It is this low level of self-esteem that makes you age faster than maybe you actually need to. The biological clock and gravitational forces dont show any kindness, either. So what if you start to look older? If you werent getting older you would have a bigger problem. It happens, so make the best of it. What would happen if you chose to think young again and discovered an entirely new area to explore within your world that gave you something to look forward to every day? Your emotional health would begin to heal and from there, your physical health would be positively affected. You could assume the same innocent anticipation you had as a child, able to experience again that same child-like inner happiness, strength and positive energy. Life is to be lived with enthusiasm and with a strong desire to see what comes next. This is the power of youth. When you make up your mind there is nothing left, age takes its toll. The power is inside you to think young and therefore restore your youth all over again. You can change your thoughts by changing the way you choose to view situations, circumstances, people and especially yourself. Self-confidence and self-esteem make you look, feel and carry yourself youthfully. Making the effort to look your best from head to toe at all times, gives you personal pride and allows you to defy human nature in an effort of fighting the negative elements of physical aging. What did you do when you were a kid? Why not continue doing it? Bounce on a trampoline. Lift weights. Play games. Swing on the swing at the park. Laugh. Take a nap. Accept a new challenge now and then. Maybe your life just needs a little rejuvenation and your furnace of metabolism just needs a little re-regulating. Having something to look forward to makes that possible and adds sparkle to life. Hope is an attitude without age limitations. Keep your mind filled with knowledge and keep it productive. Do all the good you can with what you have and never quit having a goal to work toward. Nothing brings more joy in life than achievement of your goals, perhaps because by now you have learned that you have no choice but to give your best efforts and utilize your talents to reach them. Having something to strive toward allows you to overcome emotional old age. Decide on a new goal and give your best efforts in attempting to achieve it. Nothing brings more joy in life than a goal achieved. Wanting to do something and giving it the very best you can provides an inner personal joy. Hard work, dedication and determination will bring greater happiness than anything else in life. Refuse to get old. You dont have to. Youth is enthusiasm, activity, plans and projects. Fall in love with what you are doing. o Smile often
o Have a good sense of humor
o Make others feel happy about themselves
o Know your limitations
o Laugh at yourself
o Be your true, uninhibited self
o Be determined to excel
o Retain your own personal technique and make it your trademark Tell yourself you are still a child and that you plan to stay there. You can turn back the hands of time by dressing younger and listening to the music you listened to when you were a hope-filled, love-struck teenager. Church As Unusual
By Michael Tummillo In a vision the Lord gave me, I saw small white castles across the landscape, all flying white flags with red crosses on them, dotting the countryside as far as I could see. I instantly knew these represented "pastoral kingdoms." These were places where the local villagers could run in and find refuge when they felt threatened by their enemy. This verse came to mind: "The Name of the Lord is like a strong tower that the righteous will run into and be glad." Notice, there was no mention in that verse of a literal tower; it's God Himself who is our Protector. That's where our help comes from; the One who made the Heavens and the Earth. These "castles" were a demonic deception for they were NOT really a place of safety; not the "sanctuary" they were thought to be. Today, too many perceive or expect these "pastoral kingdoms" (church buildings) to be places of holiness inhabited by the Lord where they will be accepted by all, loved unconditionally, and have their troubles cared for and needs met. Too often, these same individuals ultimately leave after failing to find what they thought they were looking for, i.e., their personal salvation. Sure, many will "get their ticket punched" and consider themselves "saved" or "born again" but, in time, they discover that these sanctuaries are mere buildings and that they were better off BEFORE they ever entered the doors. Many attest to feelings of having been judged, weighed, measured and found wanting and wind up turning their back on Christianity all together, some embracing false Christs and false religions. Church splits, poor leadership, boredom...it seems there's always something to prune the trees. Jesus said there'd be days like this. A KINGDOM OF DENOMINATIONS? In the early 1500s, a German monk named Martin Luther became so convicted of his sins that he spent up to six hours confessing them. As he studied the Scriptures he found that salvation didnt come through anything he did, but simply through trusting in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross. Notice: Salvation was the key. He listed the contradictions between what the Scriptures said and what his church taught on the matter, and nailed his "95 Theses" to the church door in Wittenberg, Germany. Luther became the first to "protest" against the established church, and thus has been called the father of the Protestant Church. Since that time, there have been many MORE disagreements causing many MORE splits. How much water one should baptize with? Dunk or sprinkle? How to sing what and why? Who should govern whom, etc. These things and many others have caused thousands of Christian splinter groups. Many of these groups are convinced that they alone are right and that all others are wrong. How can any one of them call themselves 'the true Church" when the best any of them can truly be called is the first "true denomination"? Religious division is not a new concept. When the kingdom of Israel split into the northern and southern segments, each chose a different style of worship. Jeroboam and his advisors wanted Bethel to be Israel's chief religious center, intending to compete with Jerusalem (1 Kings 12:25-33). Though Jeroboam was a charismatic leader and organizer who had popular support, Bethel's religion became idolatry leading to Israel's eventual downfall. We can go all the way back to Cane and Abel and find division where the people's service and love of God are concerned. A denomination might hold fast to a man-made tradition that was handed down over centuries and ratified by the clergy. If the authorities believe that tradition is equal to the Scriptures, then the practice often becomes infallible. Divisions flourish when individuals are unable to differentiate between God's ordinances and man-made practices. When the church at Corinth was faced with many elements of division, Paul encouraged cooperation among members, both Jew and Gentile (1 Corinthians 12:12). Despite their differences, each believer had one thing in common; faith in Christ. This truth is where the Church found its unity. Paul wanted to reinforce the relationship between the Jew and Gentile in the early Church while discouraging competition. "May God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ," (Romans 15:5-6). Despite all the confusion, Christian churches DO manage to subscribe to certain foundational beliefs such as the deity, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Bible says, "The foundation of God stands sure, having this seal, The Lord knows them that are his," (2 Timothy 2:19). So, despite all our manmade dogmas, doctrine and traditions, God knows who belongs to Him and whose hearts are far from Him. He is not fooled by false piety, self-righteousness and mere religion. Thomas Jefferson wrote about a preacher, Richard Mote, who "exclaimed aloud to his congregation that he did not believe there was a Quaker, Presbyterian, Methodist, or Baptist in Heaven, having paused to give his hearers time to stare and to wonder. He added that, in Heaven, God knew no distinctions." As Believers in Jesus, we all must share the same essentials of our Christian faith. God gives us unique personalities and abilities to worship, serve, and follow Jesus Christ, the Head of the Church; our King. "There is one body and one Spirit . . . one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all," (Ephesians 4:4-6). As one retired Church of Christ minister said at a conference, "Don't fool yourselves! Not every individual sitting in your pews believes the things you want them to believe. That being the case, we might as WELL encourage unity in the Body of Christ!" It's true. I've spoken with scores of people who are not only unfamiliar with the basic tenets of their denomination, but have admitted to attending a particular church solely because of family pressure or for societal reasons. GOD IS DOING A NEW THING Proverbs 6:17-19 lists seven things that God hates. Solomon said, "These six things doth the LORD hate; yea, seven are an abomination unto him..." One of these hated "things" is referred to as "dissension among brothers." Over the decades, I believe it's the Gospel of Salvation that has caused the GREATEST dissension among brothers throughout the Body of Christ. Why? Because, when we peel back the onion skins, it seems each of Christianity's 3,000 denominations has its own concept of what it means to be "saved" or " born again." Whether its our terminology, traditions, dogmas, doctrine or rituals, whether we utilize a Sinner's Prayer, a Profession of Faith, or Water Baptism, it's those things that serve to cause division between the brethren because our focus is so much upon the "thing" that we prescribe to and NOT on advancing the Kingdom of God and promotion of the Cause of Christ. Oddly, all adherents would agree that they are advancing the Kingdom. The sad fact is that we are, as a whole, advancing in the wrong direction. We're living in a day when God is introducing us to a "New Authority" that will alter the way scores of Believers across denominational lines will begin to view every aspect of their lives, their work, their relationships and the way they worship our God. I hate to break it to you, folks, but the authority of the Gospel of Salvation that we've all grown to know and love, is gone. When John the Baptist came preaching his Baptism of Repentance, it was essentially a Baptism of Salvation and the Jews came running. Why? Because, for the first time, a sinner could have his sins forgiven through a Baptism of Repentance. This was a brand new message from the LORD GOD, never before heard of in all of human history! The children of Israel did not have a way to have their sins forgiven (without sacrifice of life) until the moment that John preached a Baptism of Repentance. Imagine how they must have been overjoyed! Peter preached to the Jews, "Repent and be baptized for the remission of your sins!" Paul, on the other hand, preached, "If any man be in Christ, He is a NEW creation, the old has gone, the new has come." When the world sees that we've REALLY been transformed and we show them something they WANT, they'll come to us in droves for they've become jealous for what we say we've found in Christ. Right now, they couldn't care less - a decision based upon observation. The authority of that "Salvation" message was acceptable to the natural minds because it's what was being sought after by the Jews. Even today, many Christianized Muslims will attest that, in Islam, one of their greatest frustrations was that there was no way to get rid of the guilt of sin. Mankind WANTS to be saved and has gleefully responded to a message and procedures that showed us HOW. From Water Baptism to Professions of Faith to recited prayers of salvation like the ABC's of Salvation or Four Spiritual Laws, we have devised one method after another to show people how they can become "born again" or "saved" according to our manmade, non-Scriptural methods. Interestingly, there are over 30 references to some variation of the phrase "follow Me" or "follow Him" and only ONE phrase that tells us "we must be born again." Deep in our spirits, we knew that the Salvation message did not produce what we wanted it to produce; we found it wanting. But like the Jews who were forever longing for a means of personal redemption, too often, we aren't being shown that there IS one. Surely, we've all seen that the results of most people's "salvation" experiences were far from exemplary. In fact, multitudes have, themselves, realized that they were not saved or born again for they saw absolutely NO TRANSFORMATION had taken place in their own lives. Charles Finney, who single-handedly assisted 50,000 people in getting "saved" or "born again" later repented after having met so many people who personally testified that no perceivable changes had taken place after that initial emotional appeal and response. That's why, even today, so many Christians find themselves STILL seeking after something else, even after they've supposedly "found Jesus." It's why we hear so many news reports of ministers engaged in sin and even wonder why, in our very own lives, a certain sin so easily besets us every time. The one thing that has appealed to and attracted multitudes to Christianity throughout Christian history is no longer "packing them in", i.e., the Gospel of Salvation. When we examine, with spiritual eyes, the mass exodus that's taking place across the planet every week - people who are leaving organized Christianity at a rate of about 53,000 weekly while 3,800 American churches fold up annually, despite more and more referring to themselves as "born again Christians - we have to ask ourselves what the Spirit of God is up to. So, one might ask, if it's no longer the Gospel of Salvation, what is this NEW Authority - the NEW message? Simply put, it's the Gospel of the Kingdom. You see, the Kingdom of God has only ONE authority, that's our King, Jesus. He wants His Church back. And He'll get it. WHY PREACH THE KINGDOM MESSAGE? As many are aware, the word "church" comes from the Greek word "ekklesia" which means "the called out ones." You may be surprised to discover that the word was never intended to describe anything of any religious significance. Actually, the word referred to a forum of privileged Roman men in any of the Empire's conquered territories, the local government of a town. The ekklesia's main function was to turn the local, conquered people into Roman Citizens. In other words, the people were to become assimilated into the ways of Rome through these men exposing them to Roman culture, art, science, literature, entertainment, government...everything. When Christians eventually began using the term to describe themselves and the mission they were engaged in for Christ, it challenged the political autonomy of the Roman Empire. The very use of the term was seen as a challenge to the authority of the Emperor. Furthermore, the Christian ekklesia included women, children, slaves and other socially-excluded people who were not only included and belonged, but were given a voice. This actually appealed to the masses of oppressed people. In short, Rome saw in Christianity a counter-culture that drew upon the authority of God, contrasting the Roman political and social world. This subversive form of community spread like wildfire throughout the empire, and was perceived by Rome as a threat. The Kingdom of GOD was at hand! It was fluid, local, accessible, approachable and crossed all societal, economical, national, political, racial, generational and gender boundaries, just as it should be doing today. The Church is supposed to be the Divine Government of God among the nations. So that the people can become the people of God, the Church is supposed to impact society in such a way that the Kingdom is advanced. The problem? Once we packed the pews as a result of our "salvation" message, the Church became introverted and turned in upon itself. Jesus said "I will build my church," not "build a church upon Me." Big difference, do you see it? Though the Scriptures instruct us to "GO" and tell, today's churches are too often saying "Come and listen." Society's keen to it. Quite skeptical these days, in fact. The Church STILL consists of "the called out one's," not from a religious standpoint but from a governmental position. It's the government of the human heart that matters. We are Ambassadors of Christ, Paul said. An Ambassador represents a government and wherever we go, we represent God's Divine Government, not merely the Christian religion or any particular flavor of denomination. The King is in charge of this Kingdom. We represent the Divine Government of God and our basic mission is to tell people that the King loves them, forgives them and desires relationship with them. THE CHURCH OF THE KING IS A CHURCH OF KINGS Never fear! The Kingdom of God is ALREADY resident within you because the KING already resides within you. Remember, God's not "up there" somewhere. He lives in YOU! You are His priests. Yes, YOU! Jesus is your High Priest. See for yourself: God declared to Moses way back in Exodus 19:5-5, "Now therefore, if you will indeed obey my voice, and keep my covenant, then you shall be my own possession from among all peoples; for all the earth is mine; and you shall be to me a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation.' These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel." First Peter 2:9 reads, "You are a chosen race, a kingdom of priests, a holy nation, God's own people, to proclaim the glorious deeds of God..." Revelation 5:10 reads, "And hast made us unto our God a kingdom of priests, and we shall reign on the Earth."
When Jesus said, "The Kingdom of God is at hand," He was basically saying, "The invisible, invincible Kingdom of God is within your grasp - you can TOUCH it. You're SO NEAR! It's right here...I am IT!" We have no concept of Kings and Kingdoms in the West. But wherever the King goes, so goes the Kingdom. Wherever His Ambassadors go, they represent the Kingdom as well and have all of its powers backing them. I heard of a missionary who was walking in Africa with a guide. Suddenly, the guide pulled the missionary low to the ground, forcing him to bow as he did the same. Just then, a runner ran by carrying a message with the King's seal. The guide told the missionary that anyone with the King's seal was as good as being the King and was to be treated as such. That's the concept. You ARE the righteousness of God in Christ. In other words, when God sees you, He sees Jesus. So does Satan. He's very aware of the ultimate power that resides in God's people and he trembles at the thought. Until we renew our minds to that fact, he continues to stimulate our imaginations and "mess with our heads" till we start to believe his deceptions. That's why we must understand that the battle is for our minds. We are instructed to "cast down all vain imaginations and everything that exalts itself above the knowledge of God." When these anti-Kingdom, anti-Christ, anti-Truth notions creep back in, speak to them aloud. "In the Name of Jesus, I come against you lying spirits. I am a child of the King, a servant of the Kingdom. I'm one of God's priests upon the Earth and you have no right to me. Jesus is my Lord. He OWNS me. So, by the authority of His Name and by the power of the Holy Spirit who raised Him from the dead and now lives in me, I command you to GO!" Something like that. THE PROBLEM WITH UNITY The World Council of Churches is generally perceived as a good thing. I've participated in many interdenominational gatherings myself and there was always a sweet atmosphere there with no one stepping on anyone else's denominational toes. Where ecumenism is concerned, the first organization that springs to mind is the World Council of Churches (WCC). In my opinion, the only measuring stick regarding who is with Jesus - the King - and who is against Him, MUST be the Gospel of the Kingdom. The next question must certainly be, "Are you building Christ's Kingdom or your own group's? The Bangkok conference of the WCC was opened by the president of the World Buddhist Society. In her prayer she called on "the gods of all religions" to save mankind. Sorry, lady, but King Jesus has already accomplished this. That's not a Kingdom-minded person. Marketing Breakthrough - Your Feeling Formula
By Kenneth Little Your marketing breakthrough is just around the corner. You can jump start your product launch with the amazing Feeling Formula. You've heard it said - sell the sizzle not the steak. Here's a great take on the sizzle. As you get started on the conceptualizing , advertsing, promotion and distribution, of your product take time out to apply the Feeling Formula. The first step calls for you to take off your traditional marketer's "hat" and think about the experience your cleint will have the moment they purchase the product. The key question to ask yourself is - "What will they be feeling?" Reflect on their experience long enough to get the full impact of the warm and fuzzy feeling they will be enjoying. Now tell yourself you are no longer marketing products, nor are you a writer of sales copy bullelted with the usual consumer benefits. Come to the realization you are a Feelings Marketer. To get this deep on the inside of you think about the purchase experience of the new car buyer. As they take delivery are they thinking horsepower, or style. No. They are rehearsing in their minds the great feeling they'll get when they drive down the I - 1 and their vehicle attracts the attention of other motorists. As a Feelings Marketer you need to rebuild your marketing campaign. Your new focus is on lifting client awareness that they can't do without the ownership feeling. Instead of highlighting direct product features in your advertising, touch the heart of your cleint . Sell the advantages of the feelings. Expect success as you now know what to sell as the sizzle. Selling the feelings will put you on the chart as a top performer in your organization and you will be able to leap to your feet as you yell "Oh, what a feeling". Kenneth Little is a writer, teacher, public speaker and the publisher of a re-released classic - in a revealing ebook- that will show you how to get the best of health and wealth out of all your future years. How To Write Effective Product Reviews
By Chris Bruso You may have found this article in an effort to write your own product reviews in order to create a home based business. There are a lot of products on the web that claim to be 'high income business opportunities' but obviously, not all are what they claim. This is where the reviewer comes in - to separate the fact from the fiction regarding 'make money at home' opportunities. The goals of your review should be to keep the reader interested, give a fair and honest review, and ultimately have the reader purchase the product based on your review. Your job as the reviewer is to answer some basic questions. What does the product do? For a review to be successful, it needs to give a good overview of the product you're talking about. Give enough detail to keep the reader's attention but don't give too much away or they may just use your review as their 'make money at home' idea without purchasing it through you! Remember - you're trying to get the reader to buy the product through your affiliate link based on your review and help your own home based business. How will the product benefit the reader? Another key to a good review is to tell the reader how this product will benefit them. Like myself, readers are skeptical of the claims that you may make about the product and, chances are, not that willing to part with their hard earned cash unless they are convinced that the product will benefit them in some way. Be careful to avoid bold statements that aren't true. It's sometimes tempting to enhance how effective a product is but an honest review is always the best route. People can tell if you're simply trying to make a sale or if you really believe what you're saying. Your thoughts and recommendation about the product I like to give my thoughts and recommendations about the current business opportunities from home that I'm reviewing. It adds a very personal touch to the review and I think that people will tend to believe your review more if there's more than a sales pitch in the review. That personal touch may be just enough to convince the reader to make the purchase. After finishing your review, be sure to proof-read it yourself to catch spelling or grammar mistakes. This step is extremely important if you want your readers to continue reading your review. If you can, have someone who is unrelated to the product read your review. I find that an unbiased eye can provide a really good critique. If you follow these basic principals, it will help insure the visitor's trust in your review and promote repeat visits. Repeat visits = more affiliate sales! Good luck with your online ventures! Easy Weight Loss Small Steps that Make a Big Difference
By Michael Bens If you have a significant amount of weight to lose say 20 pounds or more the task ahead of you can seem very daunting. Is it any wonder that so many people try to put it off, or to deny that the problem is as serious as it really is? But studies show that being significantly overweight carries with it a huge health risk, so being in denial about weight problems is very dangerous it can even be deadly. Still, when you think about it in terms of a concrete plan to lose weight, it can be very daunting indeed. One pound is approximately 3,500 calories, and just thinking about how much exercise you would have to do to burn that much is exhausting. You can understand why people put it off, even though that has the potential of making the problem worse. Maybe the best advice, therefore, is this: Take it slow. Dont try to lose the weight all at once, especially if you have a lot of weight to lose. Instead, every week, commit to a small change in your lifestyle that takes you a little bit closer to your goal. For example, the first week you might decide to add some exercise to your daily regime. But if you dont have the time or the energy to go to the gym and do a full scale work out, dont worry about it you can still participate. Commit to going for a fifteen minute walk every day after dinner just fifteen minutes, just an easy walk, but you have to do it every day, rain or shine. It doesnt sound like an ambitious plan almost anyone can do it. The point is actually doing it, not just thinking about it. The next week, you might decide to address the health of your diet, so you decide to eat fruit for a snack instead of the crackers or chips you might normally reach for. Again, its a small thing, just one modified snack a day. But again, if you do it everyday, soon it will start to make a difference. Heres the trick, though. When you start implementing your second weeks change, keep doing what you committed to doing the first week. I mean, you might as well. Youre already used to it, and each of these changes, in and of themselves, are small and easy. So during the second week, youre walking every day and eating fruit. Youre well on your way. The third week, you may decide to eat a bit less. Heres an easy way to do it for any food that you would normally eat, take away a quarter of it. So, fill your plate and then take off a quarter of the food and put it in a Tupperware container for later, or buy a slice of pizza at lunch but tear off a quarter. Throw it away, or, if that offends your moral sense, put it out for the homeless. Or get a doggie bag, if youre in a restaurant. Of course, if theres an actual dog around, you can feed it your excess food. Then proceed to enjoy the rest of the meal or snack, regardless of what it is. Fruits and vegetables are exempt from this process, by the way they dont need to be quartered. It is usually at this point, around the three-week mark, that people start noticing a difference in the way their clothes fit. Weight loss is starting to kick in, and it will only accelerate during the coming weeks. We dont recommend that you weigh yourself, however. Save that for the end, and youll be amazed. In the meantime, enjoy how different your lifestyle changes are making you look and feel. Keep accumulating them. Here are some more ideas for incremental changes: During the fourth week, you might want to give up fried foods, if they are something you normally eat. Or you might want to walk instead of taking the elevator, or park three blocks away from home or the office and walk the remainder. The point is that it all adds up. You dont need to make big changes in your lifestyle over time, the little ones an make a huge difference. Using Your Computer at College
By Elizabeth Saas You'll Be Expected to Have a Computer and Printer, or Access to Them The first thing students should know about using computers at college is that their professors will expect them to have computers and printers, or at least access to them. While we realize that not everyone can afford a computer and printer, we do expect your work to be typed and handed in when we ask that of you. Most schools have several computer labs. If you don't have a computer or printer, you are going to have to make it your business to use them. If you have a written assignment due, do yourself a favor and make sure you can hand it in. Having no printer or low toner is not an acceptable excuse, and if you try to use one of these conditions to excuse not having your work, it could affect your grade. Turn off Internet Explorer and Log Off Myspace When you are using computer for school work, one of the best things you can do for yourself is to log off the Internet. Instant messages and e-mails are much more fun than homework, but if you succumb to their temptations the night before a paper is due, you will be kicking yourself at 4:00 in the morning when the paper's still not done and your e-friends are all in bed. Google.com is No Substitute for the Library If, while you were reading the above section, you found yourself screaming: "But what if I have to do research?" you are probably not alone. You will probably have a library tutorial in at least one of your classes that will go in-depth with what I'm about to say: the computer is a wonderful, powerful tool, and so is the Internet, but when your professors assign research projects, they do not expect to see a works cited page full of web links. Therefore, in response to your earlier question about research, I'll say that before you sit down to write your paper, most of your research should have been done. At the library. If you need to look up one quick thing on-line, do so, then log off and get back to your Word document. Buy a Travel Drive and Use It While computers are wonderful and powerful tools, they are also unreliable. More than one of my students has experienced hard drive failure over the course of my teaching career. I do my best to be accommodating and understanding -- the same thing happened to me in grad school, after all -- but even with understanding professors, coming back from a loss of everything you've done over the course of the semester is hard if not impossible. Invest in a flash drive, and back up your computer with regularity. Spontaneous Healing Confronting and Beating Terminal Illness
By Sacha Tarkovsky Spontaneous healing has been seen by many medical doctors who have seen or heard about at least one patient with a supposed terminal condition such as cancer, and who miraculously recovered. Spontaneous healing cannot be explained by conventional medicine which perceives 'illness' as separate from 'self' This means illness can only be treated with outside agents such as surgery, pills, radiation, chemotherapy and a host of other medicines. This a limited view of illness and other inputs need to be factored into the equation. Body and mind are linked Illness and the immune system need to be seen in the context our whole self. Our mind and our body are not separate, but interwoven and work together and influence each other. The mind is not separate from the body and our moods and personality have an important impact on the healing process. We have all heard stories of people who died, because they simply lost the will to live. It is therefore obvious that if we have a will to live, our odds of recovery from any illness will improve dramatically. The healing process Improving our diet, our over-all health and our immune system contributes to the healing process and improves and impacts on our chances of recovery. The process of healing is unique for everyone and no two individuals are exactly alike what works for one person may well not work for another. You must use the techniques that are right for you. To maximize your body's ability to heal, you must know yourself and build your healing plan around self knowledge. Our body has great potential to heal itself. Thousands of cases of 'spontaneous' healing from serious life-threatening disease have been recorded and some people who should die didnt. The ability of some people being able to survive can be put down to spontaneous healing and the influence of the whole self mind and body to combine and fight and overcome insurmountable odds. With the renewed interest in the relationship between self and illness, many scientists and physicians have begun to study spontaneous healing from untreatable 'diseases. By doing so they hope to use this knowledge so it can be used to aid the healing process in others. People who survived untreatable diseases with spontaneous healing tend to have certain things in common listed below: 1. They have a strong belief in their body's ability to heal in spite of sometimes confronting insurmountable odds. 2. They assume responsibility for their health and recovery and dont necessarily belief everything the experts are telling them. Some are told they are guaranteed to die but they refused to accept their fate. 3. Many people undergo a 'spiritual transformation' and find the joy to want to live more than ever before this re-awakening brings new meaning to their lives. Once spontaneous healing has occurred, they reflect on their illness as a blessing that transformed their mood personality and outlook. 4. People who have undergone spontaneous healing tend to have better more meaningful relationships with others. 5. People who undergo spontaneous healing tend to reassess their lives, making very significant changes to their diet, life-style, aims and aspirations making them feel better and derive more from life. 6. You are what you eat and many people who recover ditch the junk food and bad diet forever, moving towards a more healthy diet and lifestyle. 7. People who have experienced spontaneous healing enjoy life more; maybe only people who have been close to death can really appreciate the gift of life. Man is more than the sum of the parts of the physical body. He has both psychological and spiritual components. The above traits clearly show that the mind is involved in overcoming illness. Spontaneous healing refers to those situations where the body recovers its wholeness when normal body healing mechanisms have been exhausted and medicine fails, it is here the whole self comes into play: A union of mind and body working together to achieve the healing process. Best Options For Beach Wedding Shoes
By Chris Ryerson Today more and more couples are choosing to have a beautiful wedding right on the beach. This is a very romantic way to celebrate a marriage. With the wind, sun, waves, and beautiful natural setting of the beach what more can a couple ask for. It is the perfect setting for a wedding. However, one thing that the bride will want to plan for in advance is the pair of shoes that she will wear for the wedding. Finding the perfect option for beach wedding shoes can be difficult if not planned well in advance. Brides can not just walk everywhere barefoot on their special day. Therefore, pair of water resistant, low healed shoes are needed for a beach wedding. So What Is The Best Option For Beach Wedding Shoes? Slip-ons are one very viable option that works for many brides. They are very simple and compliment the go for bare theme of a beach wedding and a very simple look. They are also very easy to add to and accessorize to your wedding colors and motif. Having a beach wedding includes the bride having to walk around a lot of beach sand both wet and dry. With a simple pair of beach wedding shoes like slip ons it can be very easy to dust off the sand. This means that sand will not get stuck between your toes and be a nuisance to clean up. Also beach wedding shoes that slip on allow for fast trying. So you can always choose to dip your feet in the water or if you get a little wet it wont matter. Beautify Your Beach Wedding Shoes It is typically best to use plain white slip on beach wedding shoes. You do not want your wedding shoes sticking out and drawing to much attention to your feet versus your wedding dress so white is typically the best option. However if you want to use some color silver, gold, aquamarine often work well in small amounts. It is best to go slow with color and not add too much. Another option for decorating the shoes is to add semi precious gemstones to the back strap of the shoe. You can almost always find something that will fit with the color of your wedding. For example if the dominant color of your wedding then why not try some synthetic rubies. You can even use these semi precious gemstones to make fun patterns or design motifs on the shoes. The type of fabric is really up to you. Something traditional like satin can work well. However dont try a leather slip-on beach wedding shoes. Leather is heavy and it will not dry very well once it gets wet. Synthetic leathers are fine since they are waterproof and are easier to accessorize. Gems and rhinestones are easier to stitch in or glued on synthetic leathers. Slip-on beach wedding shoes made from organic materials like Abaca are getting recognition lately because of its beige, nature-like color. Abaca slip-on beach wedding shoes looks simple, and natural which works well for a beach wedding. The only setback with Abaca slip-on beach wedding shoes is that they do not dry up easily when they get wet. The solution with this is buy a pair of Abaca slip-on beach wedding shoes for use on the sandy part, and buys a pair of synthetic leather slip-on beach wedding shoes if you decide to go on partying along the shoreline Free 5 day Wedding

Pine Furniture Care Guide
By Steve Hattrick First, some background on PINE WOOD. Pine is a naturally soft wood which continues to "breathe", based upon changes in the local (home, office, store, etc.) humidity and temperature. On the individual furniture piece there may be slight defects, such as knots, and shakes(small cracks in the surface of the wood). Some minor shrinkage may sometimes occur. These natural irregularities in pine enhance its overall uniqueness. Do not place this product next to a radiator or in direct sunlight. Wood is a natural product and will expand if subjected to damp and will shrink and may crack if subjected to heat. This product is made of pine, which is a timber that is common for furniture, but susceptible to temperature changes. With pine furniture it is recommended that an even room temperature be maintained with no sudden temperature fluctuations, up or down. Do not place HOT or CHILLED items directly on to the surface, use a place mat. Or marking will occur. For general cleaning use a duster or damp cloth (ALMOST DRY) not wet. Do not use soap and water or detergents of any kind on this product for cleaning. To maintain the characteristic finish on this furniture, do not use aerosol sprays or any polish containing Silicon. If unsure, try on an area that's not seen and look for reactions. There is a natural stain and finish on this furniture and it will react to most manmade products. It will from time to time require the surface re-treating again to maintain its character. You can easily do this yourself using block wax (unperfumed), rubbing it over the whole item, following the manufacturers instruction. After treating your furniture, you may notice it is slightly more waxier than previously. This is normal because wood is a natural product that breathers and absorbs depending on room temperature. The use of any cleaning materials other materials other than those recommended could damage the surface and will invalidate any claim. From time to time it may be necessary to tighten fittings. This is normal and regular inspections should be carried out. Do not place furniture onto a wet or damp floor as staining may occur to your floor. Indian Sheesham Furniture made from Indian Sheesham is provided in its natural state. It will appear polished due to the natural oil occuring in the wood. You should wipe your furniture with a damp cloth to remove any dust from manufacturing. The oil on the surface will evaporate after a few days outdoors. It is the oil that remains below the surface that gives the wood its durability. Some of these oils may bleed out following the first few rainfalls, and initially, you will want to bring your cushions in when the furniture is wet. Once the furniture has begun to form the silver-grey patina, it is no longer necessary to bring the cushions indoors. To clean the furniture without removing the silver-grey patina simply use soap and water. Should you want to maintain the golden brown color, we recommend a teak sealer be applied every 12-18 months. Wood sealers are usually solvent based with water-like viscosity containing mould, ultra-violet light and moisture protection. The Wood protector should be applied after cleaning and drying out your furniture. We do not recommend painting Indian Sheesham as the wood's natural oils can affect how the paint adheres. Teak has qualities unlike any other wood as it has the ability to withstand the rigors of adverse climates. Lost Your Cell Phone? The Benefits of Cell Phone Lanyards
By Seth Miller As the use of cell phones becomes increasingly popular, so does the use of cell phone lanyards to keep them from being misplaced. The cell phone lanyard is also a great way to keep a cell phone readily available without having to physically carry it. The lanyards are typically made of cord, rope or wire. They can be connected to a backpack, belt loop or purse. To keep a cell phone easily accessible it may be most convenient to wear a cell phone lanyard around the neck, keeping the hands free. When worn around the neck, the typical cell phone lanyard, measures 36 inches long but can be custom designed to any length. To secure the cell phone to the lanyard, simply pull the lanyard through the lanyard hole that can be found on most cell phones. Other cell phone lanyards have a nylon cord attached to the end that can be pulled through the lanyard hole. Although born of necessity, the cell phone lanyard does not have to be boring. There are many styles, colors and materials to choose from. Custom printing can display a favorite slogan, symbol or saying. Many talented artists will design you a unique beaded cell phone lanyard to coordinate with a favorite outfit, pair of shoes, as well as your automobile. Choice of beading includes gemstones, pewter beads, Swarovski crystals and even diamonds. Lanyards Info provides information on printed, custom, beaded, badge, neck, key lanyards, and cell phone accessories and jewelry. Lanyards Info is the sister site of Lapel Pins Web. Finding the Best Cosmetic Surgery in Philadelphia
By Nathalie Fiset Cosmetic surgery is becoming a fact of life to society today. Many individuals are seeking the benefits of cosmetic surgery whether they are from Philadelphia or San Francisco. This is one method where the imperfections in the body and other physical manifestations can be easily corrected to turn any individual into a very appealing and alluring sight to see. However, it must be kept in mind that cosmetic surgery is not something you can do hastily. There are certain considerations to keep in mind and some details to be aware of. 1. Kind of Surgery There are various kinds of procedures that can be done to enhance the features of the body. Cosmetic surgery makes use of technology that can very much grant any wish today. Yet, there are determinations that are particular to one type of condition. Some have serious disfigurements that will require a serious procedure that only a highly skilled surgeon can perform. With this kind of situation, it is imperative to approach only those who are reputed for their experience and knowledge. There are minor procedures that require only the careful attention of a trained surgeon. Rhinoplasty is one example of such a procedure. You need not look for the most expensive surgeons to perform this operation. 2. The Costs of the Procedure Another aspect to consider is the cost. Everybody will want to save money in any endeavor they make. However, if it is your body and your health involved, then it is necessary to get only the best deal. Cosmetic surgeries can be very costly. You are paying for the professional services of the doctor, together with the costs of the materials as well the services of the assistants. It is best to research properly on the capabilities of any cosmetic surgery center that you approach. Check out its history. At best, approach only those who have been proven for their skills. It is also possible to get different fees for different locations. For example, a cosmetic surgery procedure in Philadelphia may not cost as much as those offered in Beverly Hills. 3. Consequences of the Procedure Keep in mind also that becoming beautiful through cosmetic surgery will also entail a big amount of sacrifice in your part. This is a necessary consequence in your quest for beauty. The procedure can be a little painful; most surgery procedures will require putting the patient to sleep. Furthermore, there are aspect that can be experienced after the procedure has been done as the body will take some time to react and adapt to the changes. Thus, you must be prepared for the immediate consequences of the cosmetic surgery that may include some bruising etc. Finding the Right Cosmetic Surgery in Philadelphia Once you have properly weighed the factors above, then you can start to decide whether cosmetic surgery is for you. For people in the urban areas like in Beverly Hills or Las Vegas, cosmetic surgery may be a normal option. This may be a usual procedure to most people who live the same lifestyle. However, for those who want to undergo cosmetic surgery in other areas like Philadelphia, a more careful consideration must be taken. There may be surgeons who advertise their services on the internet. Check out the web site to see if the center suits your requirements. Before proceeding with cosmetic surgery, consult the authorities in Philadelphia first. Make sure that the doctors are properly licensed. Ask also their previous clients for any comments and recommendations if you can. Becoming pretty is not impossible. Technology and medicine have worked hand in hand to provide the solution to our aesthetic needs. So do benefit from this breakthrough and become a better version of you - get out there and find the right cosmetic surgery procedure for you, even if you are in Philadelphia, San Francisco or some other area. Marriage Advice - You're With Your Perfect Teacher
By K Jones Its a constant and ongoing battle in your marriage. You like to have things laid out and to be prepared for whats coming. He doesnt plan at all. You know youd relax if only hed be a little more focused, and then you could stop having these arguments. How can you get him to work with you on this? Is it even possible? Im going to start by quoting a brief passage from a book I recently read, The One Thing You Need to Know by Marcus Buckingham: ...Putting these conclusions together, this controlling insight can serve as the One Thing you need to know about happy marriage: Find the most generous explanation for each others behavior and believe it. Those of you that have either worked with me one-on-one, or have participated in any of the seminars I lead, know that I am a HUGE fan of assume the best, and perception is a choice in a relationship with a man (its actually fabulous in ANY relationship you care about). Simply put, this means that no matter what your man is doing that you find displeasing, you work to find the best possible reason, motive or cause for it. My one caution: make it feasible, or youll deny yourself the power of choosing a perception that alters your emotional state in a positive way. YOU DO HAVE A CHOICE You say he doesnt plan, which drives you nuts. You need more structure, more of an ability to see whats coming, so you can prepare. Here are three (of many more) possible perceptions you could choose: 1. He is a relaxed, trusting man, and a very positive influence on me it helps me work on my controlling, type A personality. 2. I married a total ass$^&@ and hes ruining my life. 3. Ever since the Martians took over his brain, I cant trust this guy. Im going to guess that #1 brings forth appreciation and love. #2 does the opposite, and brings forth your angry and judgmental side. #3 is useless, as no part of your mind can wrap around it (unless you really want to make yourself laugh, in which case, go for it!). Too many women see (perceive) their husbands way of going with the flow as an intolerable flaw. That explanation of his behavior fuels your judgment and anger, which is, in all likelihood, getting you both more dug in to your respective corners, so it becomes a right/wrong issue, rather than simply being that you both bring different perspectives (and strengths) to the marriage. YOUR NEW, FEEL-GOOD PROGRAM Heres what you do: 1) Next time youre getting in trouble with your perception of him, take a breath (or two or three) and ask yourself what explanation for him youre working with...be honest with yourself. 2) If your perception could be anything other than your auto-response first one (heres a hint: there are always other perceptions that are just as legitimate), and it would help you feel better, play around with choosing one that works. 3) Keep at it until you feel better. 4) If you just cant get off it this time, make yourself a promise that next time you find yourself seeing your husband in a negative light, you WILL work at finding a positive spin to whatever hes doing. Its ultimately all about feeling better, since when you feel better, you act more in alignment with your highest and best self. This man, your wonderful partner, is in your life to help you learn to be your best self; hes your perfect teacher! IN CONCLUSION If you want to be successful in a long-term marriage, as I trust you do, it takes learning how to do things that support compassion and trust between you and your mate. Bringing a generosity of spirit to the way you perceive what hes doing (or has done), so that youre able to choose the best possible story for what was behind the (perhaps) bone-headed move, is a powerful way to bring you closer to what you want. You will both feel better in the long run. And what a marvelous connection that nurtures!
