Names Ringtones - Know Who is Calling You

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Philip_Nicosia]Philip Nicosia Phone models are getting fancier and fancier as mobile technology progress. More and more high tech features are being incorporated into phones like megapixel cameras, mp3 players, Bluetooth, video playback, among others. These additions are turning mobile phones into true convergence equipment. Not surprisingly, the accessories that are being put inside phones are also getting more sophisticated and try to keep abreast with these fast changes in mobile phone technology. Ringtones are a good example of this development. In terms of ringtone development, we have indeed come a long way from the ancient ringtones that were nothing more than glorified bleeps and rings. As mobile phones undergo their own technological evolution, so do the ringtones that we have been putting in our phones. From those literal RING tones, phones eventually carried melodic ringtones that you also have the option to compose on your own. Then came polyphonic ringtones that approximate midi files. Polyphonic ringtones were the first step toward the development of tones that actually simulate what it is to hear a song or actual melody in your phone. From there, MP3 ring tones or real tones became all the rage. You now have the chance to use your favorite song as a ringtone for your phone. Now ringtones have undergone another stage of evolution with the introduction and rising popularity of names ringtones. What are names ringtones anyway? They are personalised ringtones that you can download to your mobile phone. The difference here is that this type of ringtone contains the name of the caller, which you can then assign to the appropriate contact in your mobile phones phonebook. For example, you can buy a names ringtone that contains the name Amy and then use it by assigning it to Amy Brenner, a contact in your phonebook. Names ringtones are very convenient and useful to mobile phone owners because it automatically notifies you who is calling on your mobile phone without even looking at the screen. This kind of advantage did exist before because you can assign a dedicated ringtone to a particular contact. But the added advantage here is that, with a names ringtone, it brings customisation and personalisation a step further. There is something unique and refreshing to actually hear the name of the person you are calling as it gives your mobile phone the semblance of having an artificial intelligence reminiscent of those science fiction movies where futuristic gadgets announce who the caller is in their communications devices. A names ringtone brings the convenience of no-look recognition to callers that contact you on your mobile phone. The personalisation aspect is a big attraction to mobile phone owners. Phone owners love to do little things to their phones to put a personal stamp on an otherwise mass market device. They would change the phones casing, wallpaper, themes and even lights to reflect the individual taste and personality of the owner. With a names ringtone the personalisation enters the phonebook itself. Fat Loss Program - 3 Stellar Tips for Maximum Fat Loss

By Tom Gifford Understanding the right components of a fat loss program in the gym is absolutely crucial to your success. After reading this article on the right aspects of a fat loss program, you will say goodbye to doing long boring cardio routines and hundreds of crunches. This article will show you the 3 major parts of a fat loss program, and why each one is as beneficial as it is! FAT LOSS PROGRAM PRINCIPLE #1: You need to add muscle. Does this sound contradictory to what you may think about a good fat loss program? Most people think that a fat loss program that involves adding muscle mass will make them heavier or "bulky". The truth is, a fat loss program that includes strength training will help you add muscle mass, which will in turn increase your resting and active metabolism! Think about it for a second, why would you NOT want more muscle mass? Muscle is what burns calories while you are exercising. If you have more lean muscle mass, you will burn more calories and lose more fat! FAT LOSS PROGRAM PRINCIPLE #2: Increase metabolism through interval training. Say goodbye to long and boring cardio routines! If your fat loss program involves doing long bouts on a cardio machine, your results have probably been very meager. By doing the same "same speed" cardio workout over and over again, your body will adapt. This means you will burn less and less calories with more subsequent exposures! Try interval training instead. It is a great addition to your fat loss program because it is fast and a lot more effective. Interval training means you are switching back and forth between high and low intensities. For example, you might go 2 minutes slow followed by 1 minute fast. Repeat this 2-1 format 3-6 times and you have a great metabolism boosting addition to your fat loss program! Because interval training involves pushing yourself, make sure you ask your doctor first before trying it. Safety is your number one priority! FAT LOSS PROGRAM PRINCIPLE #3: If your diet doesnt change, neither will you. This is the most important part of a fat loss program! By decreasing the overall number of calories you take in, you will lose body fat! If you eat 4-6 small meals per day of good quality protein, complex carbohydrates, and healthy fats, you will keep your blood sugar more regulated and not be hungry all the time. You can even cheat a few times a week and still have your fat loss program just fine. The key is to stay away from fad diets, crash diets, and high glycemic "bad carbs". If you try including these as part of your fat loss program, you will find yourself staying where you are and being frustrated. It is a good idea to see a Registered Dietician to get an individual fat loss diet program. Have the extra accountability may be just what you need to stick with making good food choices! So in conclusion, the major components of a fat loss program include exercising and having a great diet. If you want to learn more about the specifics of how to incorporate each one into your fat loss program, check out the links below. Want to Reprint this Article on Fat Loss Program? Colorful Spring Gardens

By Tim Birch In the spring, while trees and shrubs are still showing their pale green new growth, the early border generally consists of colorful bulbs and a few early blooming perennials against a backdrop of green foliage and brown earth. Spring bulbs are perhaps the most important flower in the early spring garden. Spring bulbs, a welcome sight after a long winter, offer the earliest blooms of all garden flowers. Some bulbs will last until the early perennials begin to bloom in May and June. There are also some early blooming shrubs which can provide the garden with colorful flowers. Forsythia and witch-hazel, for example, bloom long before many perennials even begin to emerge from the soil. In fact, in the middle of spring and early summer there are more shrubs and trees in bloom than at any other time of year. Most early blooming perennials are quite suitable for the shade garden. They're able to take advantage of the sun while it still reaches the ground beneath deciduous trees which have yet to form their leaves. Woodland gardens are often the most colorful landscapes in the spring since many native, shade tolerant flowers bloom early in the season. A great early blooming perennial for the garden is iris which ranges in color from white to purple and in size from a few inches to 4 feet. Bleeding heart is a short lived yet stunning pink blooming perennial which is at home in both the shade garden the woodland garden. Columbine, an easy to grow perennial, blooms in a variety of colors. Some of the showiest early season flowers include poppy and peony and lupine. Though there are many early blooming garden plants, green is still the dominant color in the spring landscape so choose a few plants with interesting foliage. Hosta grows in many shades of green including blue-green and gold-green. Hosta forms the perfect backdrop for spring flowers. Evergreens provide the garden with beautiful shades of green year-round. Variegated foliage, like that of the emerald and gold euonymus, brightens up the garden with a mix of light and dark colors. Spring bulbs, such as tulips, daffodils, blue bells and crocuses, are planted in the fall and blooms as early as March. Bulbs are a very versatile flower as they're suitable for the perennial garden, the shrub bed or even for planting in the lawn. They're most effective when planted in masses so plant quite a few in each area. Early blooming perennials are generally short lived and often quickly lose their lush green foliage (poppies & lupine in particular). Plan your flower garden so that annuals and later season perennials are ready to take over and provide the garden with colorful blooms. Be sure to deadhead the perennials as the flowers fade. Deadheading is the process of snipping spent blooms off a plant. Designing your garden on paper before digging gives you a helpful guide while you plant. Though early flowers are welcoming sure signs of spring, be sure to incorporate all kind of flowers in the garden so there's continuous bloom from spring to fall. Step Parents - What Are Your Rights?

By Karen Agnew-Griffith There are, in this complicated world, a great many step-parents. If you are one, as I am, do you know your legal position in terms of what you can and cannot authorise when it comes to your step children? Imagine you have recently married and your spouse has three children. Your spouse is off on camp with the youngest child leaving you to run around with the elder two. You agree they can go out cycling for a half hour. Then the police knock on the door. One of the children has been in an accident and is currently being treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital. The other child is being accused of causing the accident and the police want to talk to her. Neither of the childrens natural parents can be contacted by mobile phone. What can you do or more importantly what are you allowed to do? The answer to this question will depend on if you have Parental Responsibility. Who really has parental responsibility?
A step-parent even if married to a parent of children does not acquire Parental Responsibility for a child automatically. Parental Responsibility is the bundle of rights and duties relating to a child. Duties include providing clothing, a home, an education and making sure no harm comes to the child. An individual with Parental Responsibility can authorise a change of name for a child in certain circumstances and can give consent to marry if the child is under the age of 18. The mother of a child always has Parental Responsibility. An unmarried father of a child whose birth was registered before 30th November 2003 does not automatically have Parental Responsibility even if he is registered as the father on the childs birth certificate. Since 1st December 2003 however an unmarried father who is present when the birth is registered i.e. is on the birth certificate, does acquire Parental Responsibility. Fathers without Parental Responsibility are able to acquire it through a formal agreement registered with the authorities or through a Court Order. Rights and responsibilities of step-parents
Step-parents since 5th December 2005 can also acquire Parental Responsibility through a formal agreement or Court Order. Other Orders which result in Parental Responsibility to a step-parent or other individual (e.g. grand-parent) are a Residence Order which regulates where a child will live and gives the individual with the Residence Order Parental Responsibility until the child is 16. A Parental Responsibility Order however endures until the childs 18th birthday. Following the Civil Partnership Act 2004 coming into force on the 5th December 2005 same sex partners in a registered Civil Partnership are also able to acquire Parental Responsibility by formal agreement or Court Order. Step-parents however still will not and do not acquire Parental Responsibility automatically. For a formal agreement each person with Parental Responsibility has to sign the Agreement. This is often the natural parents and any other individuals who have acquired Parental Responsibility since the birth of the child. A step-parent on acquiring Parental Responsibility has the same duties and responsibilities as any other individual including a natural parent with Parental Responsibility. For advice on how to acquire parental responsibility and what your responsibilities are as a step-parent contact Karen Agnew-Griffith, specialist family lawyer with Woolley & Co solicitors. S.A.D. - Walk Away the Blues

By Marian Brown Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), formerly called Seasonal Depression, affects between 10 million and 25 million Americans according to Dr. Norman Rosenthal, National Institute of Mental Health. The likelihood that one will suffer from SAD increases the further one goes North, women are four times more likely to experience SAD than men and the age group 20 to 40 is most vulnerable. SAD is still undergoing a great deal of research. The exact cause is not known nor are its treatments well defined. Researchers, such as Dr. Rosenthal, are studying the link between lack of sunlight and the affects on melatonin, seratonin and other hormones as well as the lack of sunlight and its affect on the body's circadian rhythms. Current treatments are exploring the effect of light therapy and antidepressants on SAD. However, all treatment plans include exercise. In some cases, exercise may help to prevent or manage SAD. Physiologically, exercise stimulates the brain to release hormones called endorphins, normally credited for suppressing sensations of pain and producing a sense of well-being. Endorphin production usually begins about 15 to 20 minutes into an exercise session and peaks after about 45 minutes. Repetitious movements, such as walking, running and cycling, also increase levels of serotonin. Researchers at Indiana University found a significant decrease in depression for at least 2 hours after moderate exercise. "You can reap the calming benefits of exercise without running yourself ragged," says Jack Raglin, Ph.D., an associate professor of kinesiology. The most recommended form of exercise for depression and SAD is simply walking. Most beneficial to those with SAD is walking outdoors. Wedding Chapels in Las Vegas Casinos

By Peter Emerson Also known as the Land of Casinos, Las Vegas is also immensely popular for its wedding chapels. So when both of these popularities are combined, we get wedding chapels in Las Vegas casinos. It is this unique combination which attracts couples from all across the globe to come and exchange their wedding vows here. Almost all of the grand casinos contain at least one wedding chapel. Several of them have a collection of chapels in various styles and sizes. A few are very elegant and elaborate, compared to the small independent wedding chapels. Most of these casino wedding chapels offer themed wedding ceremonies. A very famous casino, Excalibur, offers a traditional wedding set in medieval times. For the more adventurous and extreme couples, the MGM Grand provides roller-coaster weddings. Another popular casino, Treasure Island, offers a unique package which includes a pirate wedding on board its ship. And one of the wildest of ideas, offered by the HMS Britannia and the Las Vegas Hilton, incorporates a Star Trek wedding on the bridge of the starship Enterprise. This is then given a final touch with the help of Klingon witnesses and Ferengi guests. Everything beautiful has a price to pay. However, a wedding at any of the wedding chapels in Las Vegas casinos is not about the price, but the memories the couple will have. Most of the casino wedding packages can cost anywhere from $350 up to $3,500 and beyond, depending upon the package chosen. The packages generally include one or more nights in a "honeymoon suite" at the hotel itself. They may also include photographs, flowers, music, entertainment and even a complete beauty makeover at their spa. The Case Against Dieting: 7 Steps to Lifestyle Change

By Scott Winterton If you've continued reading beyond the title of this article, it's likely that you've grown convinced that most diet and weight loss programs are ineffective -- or at least marginally effective. To further illustrate this, look no further than the advertisements of the companies that make their living selling weight-loss products and programs. In almost every instance, you will see the words results not typical in fine print at the bottom of your screen or ad copy. So if meaningful, lasting results are not typical of even the most popular diet programs and weight-loss products, why do we continue spending billions of dollars a year on programs, drugs and herbal remedies designed to help us lose weight? The answer is simple to anyone who has struggled with their weight in any significant capacity. We are desperate optimists, willing to spend the money in hopes that the next product or program around the corner will provide us with the results we've been looking for. While we continue striving for real solutions to our battles with weight issues, the truth is that diets, drugs and herbal remedies do not work. Specifically, while any of these methods may provide short-term results, they are ineffective in producing long-term solutions. This is because our eventual return to "normal" eating habits will ultimately cause a correction that will drive us back in the direction of our original weight prior to beginning the program. Affecting Lifestyle Change Before we can address our weight loss goals with a long-term strategy in mind, we need to undergo a process of lifestyle change. At this point it's best to take the process step-by-step -- don't try to change too much at once! It's best to set "smart goals:" specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and timeable. Before we can set these goals, however, there are a few issues that we must first address. 1. Understand Why We Overeat : This process of self-inspection is the first step towards identifying the areas of our lives that need to change in order to achieve our weight-loss goals. Common triggers to overeating include depression, stress, fatigue, boredom, anger, lack of intimacy, feelings of insecurity, and in some cases our own brain chemistry. I recommend keeping a journal for at least 1 - 2 weeks to identify the typical emotions and situations that cause us to overeat. Until you realize why you do what you do, your weight will continue to be a struggle over the long-term. 2. Consider the Cost: Once we have identified the triggers behind our overeating, it's worthwhile to consider the cost vs. reward argument for remaining in this lifestyle. This begins with a realization that food did not solve the problems we faced in the previous step. It only provided a temporary anesthetic. At this point it might help do draw a line down the middle of a piece of paper. On one side, list the costs of remaining in your current lifestyle. On the other, list the rewards of changing. We do not need to include the cost of changing or the reward of staying the same, because we actually identified these in the previous step. Our reward for staying the same is that we continue to anesthetize ourselves to the situations that triggered our overeating. Or cost of changing is a lifestyle that includes moderation (notice I didn't say deprivation), exercise and accountability. 3. Find a Partner: It has been proven anecdotally as well as scientifically that our chances of success in any endeavor are greater when we have the accountability and support of another person. In this case, our "partner" doesn't necessarily have to be someone who is currently trying to -- or has already managed to -- lose weight, although that would be ideal. It simply needs to be someone who can listen to your concerns and struggles along the way, keep you accountable, and provide some much-needed encouragement. If you are married, your spouse makes an excellent partner, especially if (s)he could benefit from joining you as you pursue a healthier lifestyle. 4. Cut the Cord: This is the most drastic step of the process. At least until eating habits are under control, our target foods -- be it sweets, salties, simple carbohydrates, soft drinks, or something else -- simply cannot enter our shopping baskets. Until we have really dealt with the issues identified in the first step of this process, we cannot trust ourselves to consume these products even in moderation. My recommendation is a minimum 30-day fast from your most favorite comfort foods. After you and your accountability partner agree that you have dealt with your Step 1 issues, then careful, moderate use of these foods may be resumed. 5. Set a Budget: Many of us have no idea how much (or, in most cases, how little) food our bodies need to function and remain healthy. I strongly support Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) or "burn rate" testing, not just at the beginning of our weight-loss endeavors but periodically throughout your life. This measurement, which can be performed for under $100 at many gyms, health centers and personal trainers' offices nationwide, gives you an accurate snapshot of how many calories your body consumes in a given day. Your goal from here will be to stay within the guidelines of healthy caloric intake for weight loss as outlined by your RMR. 6. Make Wise Choices: A related point is the issue of caloric density. You will quickly learn which foods pack a lot of calories into a small, unfulfilling (at least in the long term) package, and which ones can help you stretch your caloric budget to the max! Some of these foods actually contain fewer calories than your body uses during digestion! One of the products outlined in my review of the Top Three Weight Loss Programs I've found on the Internet includes a menu of these negative-calorie foods. 7. Get Physical: Your body was designed to move! If you make it a point to do some form of aerobic exercise (jogging / walking, swimming, biking, aerobics, etc.) every day (preferably first thing in the morning), your metabolism will respond by speeding up! After your body is used to the added physical activity, try to supplementing your daily activities with 15 - 30 minutes of aerobic activity 5 nights a week and resistance training (weights) 5 - 6 times per week. There are a few points to keep in mind while you're practicing these seven steps. First, they are not meant to be mutually exclusive! It's especially a good idea to revisit Step One on occasion, to take care of the psychological element of permanent lifestyle change. Second, remember that deprivation and skipping meals does far more harm than good. If you have a craving for your favorite comfort food (after you have initially weaned yourself), try indulging your craving with a very small amount (ideally controlled by your accountability partner). After fifteen minutes you're satisfied, your craving has passed, and you didn't fall off the wagon! Also, remember that skipping meals slows the metabolism. This is weight-loss suicide! Third, I cannot stress enough the importance of setting modest, attainable goals throughout this process. There is nothing more discouraging than missing a goal you have set. Miss too many, and you're likely to quit altogether. Finally, you'll be surprised at how productive small lifestyle changes can be. When you're at a restaurant, they'll typically serve you at least twice what one would reasonably eat. I've found it quite satisfying (and not the least bit embarrassing) to split meals with my wife or my kids at restaurants. Alternatively, you may also ask the waiter for a takeout box as soon as the meal arrives. That way you can place half the meal in the box immediately, and you're less likely to overindulge. Also, try parking at the far end of the parking lot, or walking to the grocery store down the block. You'll be surprised how quickly those extra steps add up! I certainly wish you the best as you embark on your own process of permanent lifestyle change. Should you desire more information on the topic, please feel free to visit my daily blog on health and nutrition topics. Scott Winterton is a health and fitness scholar, having overcome his own fight with childhood obesity fifteen years ago. Alternatives to Constructing a Wood Deck

By Peter J. Mason Building an outdoor area onto your home can be an expensive proposition. Whether you are thinking about putting in a patio or an outdoor kitchen, the material will usually be quite expensive and the labor it takes to build it even more so. Wood decks and the like are also permanent structures, so those who decide that they do not like how the project turned out are simply stuck with the results. In addition, those who are renting are not allowed to add these structures to the property. One way in which more and more people are skirting the problems posed by traditional outdoor extensions is by creating them using what are called paving stones or pavers. When you are creating and building your deck, any type of mistake will lead to considerable added expense. A missed cut in the wood, or a misjudged joint, will result not only in more time taken to correct the problem, but also in the added cost of the wasted materials. With pavers, the cost of mistakes is greatly reduced. In addition, the mistakes themselves are reduced as they are easier to work with that wood is. Many people who add additions to their homes do so without first considering their neighbors. In many modern neighborhoods, there are strict rules governing what can be added to the home. These regulations include the size of the addition, the foundation requirements, and in some cases even the material to be used are regulated. Ignorance of these rules might mean that the entire project is a waste in the case of a neighbor complaint and the resulting investigation finding that you did not build according to code. So make sure to check your local bylaws for just what you are allowed to do. The good news for those who use pavers is that they are permitted by most building codes. If you are building a wood deck, make sure that there is no possibility of runoff or standing water that will rot the material or cause disfigurment. Again, pavers negate this risk as they are not biodegradable. A lot of the time upon completion of a project, the owner of the house realizes that something just does not fit right. The deck is not showing off the landscaping to the best effect, or worse is in the way of the natural expansion of the outside decor. A deck that is built and feels cramped is very counter productive, as decks are added to give a little bit of extra space to a home. Pavers address both of these issues. Paving stones can be moved around in order to expand or contract the deck area, and to increase th eview ofa lawn and garden. For those who rent, check with the landlord before attempting any improvements. You might want to keep in mind that any additions you make will in the end only benefit the owner, so expansion should be minimal. Most landlords are okay with the use of paving stones, though, as they can be easily moved when a current tenant vacates. How Much Water Do You Really Need? Why Too Much (Or Too Little) Inhibits Weight Loss

By Dr. Donald Fox The world of weight loss can be a confusing place, but one thing all experts -- including myself -- seem to agree on is that drinking water is essential for losing weight. Really, though, how much water do you need? Do you have to drink eight glasses of water every single day? And if that much water helps you lose weight, wouldnt drinking even more stimulate fast weight loss? There are just as many myths surrounding the water-to-weight-loss corollary as there are facts. Sorting them out is your key to effective water consumption when youre dieting. First, the bad news is that you really do have to drink that much water, eight 8-oz glasses, for a total of 64 ounces every day. Some experts put forth the idea that any fluid is interchangeable, or that you can use sodas, milk or any fluid. However, if you really want an effective diet plan and fast weight loss, you have to drink plain water -- no substitutions. Another point to consider is that when you drink the water is just as important as how much you drink. Drinking eight glasses of water all at once is not only an unpleasant proposition, its ineffective. Your body can only digest 32 ounces (1 quart) of water every hour, or 8 ounces every fifteen minutes. Most people dont realize it, but water is a food and must be digested, just like everything else you take in to your body. The best time to drink your daily water is between meals, rather than with meals, so that you feel full when you arent eating, and so the water doesnt interfere with your digestion. When should you drink more than eight glasses of water? If you need to lose a massive amount of weight (generally, if your current weight is over 300 pounds), if you work outside, or if you exercise frequently, youll need to increase your fluid intake. Keep in mind that whenever you exercise, youre going to sweat, and that equates to water loss. Youll need to drink more water to make up for the loss. A successful diet must include proper water intake. Finding out exactly how much water you should drink can be a process of trial and error. Too much fluid intake can interfere with weight loss, so you should experiment to find the right level for you. Dr. Donald Fox dropped 70 pounds in five months using the diet plan he developed. What are the Price Considerations of Online Degrees?

By Keith Hoyng In this article, we will discuss why considering online degree prices are so important and how you can benefit from this information. Considering a degree online? If so, it makes sense to relate the pricing of degrees at the schools offered. Some online schools give you honest details of price of courses, while others are unrelenting. Those schools that withhold tuition fees are cynical, because it will make you question what the school is concealing. For example, to receive a bachelor degree at CTU-Colorado Tech University in Criminal Justice you will shell out around $15,000 give or take. The university helps you find student loans, normally the Stafford loans, Sally Mae, or other associating loans. One of the difficulties I noticed with this university is they are hesitant to help you find Pell grants and/or scholars. They may send out pieces of information, but as far as the financial staff go into with prudence. Of course, you should advance with caution while considering degrees in all areas. Still, paying the fee for a bachelors differ because some online schools offer associates, which are priced around $1000. Still, the cost is more reasonably priced and an associate degree will land you a career working with the criminal justice system and courts. You can also work in the police management area or law enforcement. Additionally, the degree will land you a status in police study and psychology, security and criminal prevention, or also the juvenile department systems. A Bachelors degree will bring the same appeal or job positions nevertheless you can work in other areas of the law where you may not be able to work in with merely an Associates degree. Few universities and online schools are costly. The programs are equivalent to familiar colleges; however, the schools may not help to get you government or federal grants, which could assist you and your family while attending school. Therefore, thinking about online degree pricing is necessary to save money and land the career you want. We hope that you have gained a little more knowledge concerning the pricing of online degrees presented in the first half of this article. The next part of the article should make online degrees more apparent. At Colorado Tech you can learn skills and expertise in correctional solutions, official aspects of criminal justice divisions, administration of policymaking, law enforcement and community, laws of evidence in criminal courts, courts in Juvenile divisions, history of law and crime, criminal American procedures, white-collar criminal acts, breakdown of crime scenes, forensic behavior analytical skills and crimes investigated. Students can also take the benefit of the certificates which help you move ahead in education and guiding you nearer to your online degree. The certificates presented include lawful studies and court processing, correctional technician, crime scene examination, and law enforcement proficiency. As you can see the degree verses the rest present a bit more yet Penn criminal justice degrees have a different scheme. A number of the supplies presented at the schools include textbooks, guides, and supplements. CTU online presents tools for increasing study time, such as Microsoft Works 2000 Professional software and other tools to manage your curriculums. At any rate, earning a degree in criminal justice may produce rewards in some areas but for the most part working in the law division will only reward you around $26,000 per year. Thinking about that, you are paying around $15,000 for a bachelor degree. You may want to compare the cost to decide if the degree is worth your valuable time. Other degrees online include healthcare, business and technology. The three listed degrees present a successful outlook because all three industries are on the rise. The new revolutionized developments coming into play make it doable to earn far more than $26, 000 annually. In addition, the careers achieved with these degrees poses less risks. Law enforcement is likely to get into the field of protect and serve but after working for a while, they turn over to control and empower. How thankless this can be for these people with selfish gain in mind. Therefore, not only is cost a factor when thinking about online degrees, self-esteem, humanity, confidence, dignity, and other aspects are essential as well. The industries are rising in numerous areas, thus if you are thinking about online degrees, do not only think about pricing rather think about what the degrees can reward you with in the end. Again technology, healthcare and trade are on the increase, which will payoff any school fees quickly and establish overhead. As they say, knowledge equals power, so continue to read information on this topic until you feel you are adequately educated on the pricing of online degrees. Rhinoplasty: What Is It? What Does It Involve?

By Polly Summer Rhinoplasty is cosmetic surgery of the nose. The appearance of the nose is determined by its cartilage and bone. Rhinoplasty is the process of altering the size and position of this bone and cartilage. Before seeking advice from a plastic surgeon, it is a good idea to look carefully at your nose, and decide which aspects of it you would like to be changed. Common complaints of nose size and shape are:
a hump along the bridge of the nose
a bulbous round tip
it is too large
it is too long
it is too wide
it is too droopy
Many surgeons consider Rhinoplasty to be the most complicated facial surgery procedure. It is also perhaps the most noticeable change you can make to a person - being in the middle of the face. This is particularly evident in cases where Rhinoplasty has been disappointing. On any singular Rhinoplasty, a skilled plastic surgeon is likely to employ tens, or even more, of surgical techniques to achieve the desired result. If you have had a bad 'nose job', you may still be able to have the appearance of your nose improved. It is imperative that you find a skilled expert, however, to correct the faults. Correcting a bad Rhinoplasty is far more complex than the first operation. It is not advisable to return to the same surgeon. You should investigate reputable plastic surgeons, who can supply an exhaustive portfolio of successful work. Prior to getting nose surgery, there are some things to note:
Do not take blood-thinning agents (such as aspirin)
Do not expose your nose to sun
Do not wear perfume
Wear loose clothing that is easy to put on and remove
After Surgery There is likely to be some swelling, and this may make breathing more difficult than normal. This is common, but try to sniff rather than blow your nose, as this is harsher on the tissues and will prolong the healing process. A humidifier at night and a cup of water to hand can make sleeping easier for the first few nights after Rhinoplasty. Cell Phones

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Lenore_Chapman]Lenore Chapman What did we do before cell phone became popular? We either made our phone calls before we left home or made them once we got home. And, if someone called and you missed their call, either the answering machine got the message or the person called back. Now a days the cell phone is like a credit card, DON'T LEAVE HOME WITHOUT IT. I myself, hate the cell phone. I do own one, but only because I do a lot of traveling and in case my family needs to get in touch with me in case of an emergency. Otherwise, I wouldn't own one. If you can't get in touch with me while I am home then you won't be able to talk to me. I don't give my phone number out to anyone other than my family and my boss at work. They are the only ones that would have the need to get in touch with me when I'm not at home. I see people with their cell phone hanging off their ear at work and on the highway all the time. How much work do you really get done if you are always talking on the phone to a friend. And the highway. I have been run off the side of the interstate quite a few times because the other driver is on his or her cell phone and not paying attention to the road. There are accidents all the time that involves cell phones. I have actually been run off the road by a semi-tractor and trailer, all because he was on his cell phone and not paying attention. I have missed a lot of phone calls from my husband while I am traveling, because I won't answer the call. I wait until I come to an exit, find a parking lot and make sure I am parked before I call him back. He doesn't call as often now, because he knows I won't answer the phone. There have been studies made on cell phone and the end results claim that being on a cell phone while driving is as dangerous as a drunk driving. And, did you know that there is not one state that has ban the use of a cell phone while driving an automobile or truck. The only ban is for drivers under 18 and school bus drivers, and that is only in a few states. Can you believe that. All the accidents from the use of a cell phone and nothing is being done about it. Again, I ask, what is wrong with this picture. A Time before Clock and Watches - A Series (part 1)

By Thomas G. Young How Time Was Measured Before the Clock How many times have you wondered, What time is it? and turned to your wrist only to find you forgot to put on your watch. We have become so programmed to know what time it is and schedule our lives around it that it is second nature to bend your arm, turn your wrist and get the answer. It has not always been so easy, or even necessary as you will see by looking back to a time before clocks and watches. Like Night and Day The precision with which we measure time today is light years away from how it was done, not so long ago. Time was once measured completely by the universe around us and still is in a sense when you understand the science and physics behind the measurement of time and what makes a clock work (more on this in part 2). What earlier civilizations knew and relied upon each day was that the sun came up and went down and that block of time became a day. To measure greater expanses, the moon and its reliable cycles were also observed. The moon was used to measure the time period which came to be known as a month more technically a lunar month of 28 days or the time it took for the moon to go from new to crescent to full and new again. Ancient Civilization Even more than just observing the moon, sun, and planets, there are artifacts that show us that time was measured a bit more precisely. Early calendars and clocks were found in what is now Iraq, once the dwelling place of the ancient Sumerians, and consisted of a calendar that was divided into 30 day segments according to the cycle of the moon. It was then divided into 12 sections which corresponded to 2 hours of todays time. Further, the calendar was sectioned off into 30 more parts equivalent to 4 modern-day minutes. Stonehenge is located in England and was built more than 4,000 years ago. Not much is completely understood about this mysterious structure, but the way it is positioned has scientists believing that it somehow was used to record seasons and the phenomenon of lunar eclipses and the like. Sundials The Sumerian culture passed away without the information about their timekeeping being discovered until more modern times. The next phase of more precise time measurement was used by the Egyptians. They created the Obelisk around 3500 BC which looked like todays Washington Monument, well-known to visitors of the Nations capital. This tall, tapered monument would cast shadows throughout the day, but was primitive still in how closely the time periods could be measured. It mostly reflected a change between morning and afternoon, and how the days would get shorter or longer with the seasons. The sundial on the other hand was first used about 1500 BC and was a much smaller and more portable timekeeping device. It was divided into 10 equal parts with two additional segments representing twilight and dawn. The sundial itself then emerged from a horizontal plate to a bowl shape with pointer and inscribed lines to mark off the hours. It is believed that by 30 BC there were more than 13 different styles of sundials used in the evolving societies of Asia Minor, Italy, and Greece. When one thinks about the precision of a finely crafted Swiss timepiece it is hard to imagine a time when time was so ambiguous. Could society function without time measurements to the very minute? Perhaps in another millennium society will wonder how we functioned living in just one time. This is the first of a series of articles on the evolution of time measuring and how timepieces come to become what they are today. Thomas Young is a watch collector. Why Not All Phones Will Work On Any Network

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Victor_Epand]Victor Epand With the major providers, you will need to have a device from that provider. You don't have to buy a new device, per se, but you wouldn't be able to start up service unless you had a device from that provider. So, if you purchased an unlocked GSM device on-line and then went to T-Mobile, for example, and provided them with the IMEI number of that device, they would tell you that the device was not a T-Mobile device and that you would not be able to start up service without a T-Mobile device. If, however, you started up service with T-Mobile and got a phone at little or no charge and then purchased an unlocked GSM device on-line, you could take the SIM card from your T-Mobile phone and put it into the new device and it would work. A couple of things to keep in mind. The major carriers all test the devices they sell extensively and only sell devices that meet very specific criteria. If you were to use a device that was not supported by the carrier, you may have issues, such as dropped calls, etc. When you purchase your device through the carriers, with your service, the device is under warranty (typically 12 months) with the provider. You are also guaranteed that the device has been tested on the specific network, etc. So, since it appears that you already have cell service...if it is GSM service (i.e., T-Mobile or Cingular) and you purchased a GSM phone on line, all you would have to do is put your SIM card in the device. If you have CDMA, i.e., Verizon or Sprint, you are going to have a much harder time because CDMA does not use SIM cards - your wireless number is associated with the ESN number of the device. I believe you would have a hard time getting them to put your non-carrier phone ESN into the system. Most providers will allow you to upgrade your phone every 24 months and at that time, you can take advantage of the same types of discounts that new customers get on devices. This all depends. It is common practice in the UK for mobile network to lock handsets to their network, preventing use on any other network. If verizon have done this you would need to have the handset unlocked befor you use it on Cellular's network. Once unlocked, or if it is not you should have no trouble! 8 Point Checklist: Evaluating Online Vendors

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Tom_Levine]Tom Levine Here are 8 things to consider, when evaluating lenders online: Website Design Privacy Policy About Us Popularity Reputation Short Form Points, Fees, Terms and Rates Communication 1. Website Design: The webpage is, in fact, the storefront of the internet. In the real world, your first impressions make all the difference. Well, its no different on the internet. Does the site seem forth-right? Can you glean valuable information immediately, or does it appear that you are being pushed to click here, click there? Does the page load fast, indicative of a reliable server, or does it seem to take forever for everything to be displayed (or worse, are you receiving various error messages). Are there a ridiculous amount of pop-ups, pop-unders, and other in-your-face ad campaigns, or, does the lender simply put it all out there for you to decide? Examine the website design, and trust your first impressions. 2. Privacy Policy: You will likely be sharing some personal information, in exchange for loan offers. You shouldnt be so concerned about this that it limits your ability to reach out to possible lenders. However, use your common sense. Does the website post its privacy policy? If so, take a quick peak at it. Does it seem to make sense, and is it reasonable? Virtually all trustworthy online businesses now have posted privacy policies to both assure you of their intent, and to comply with current laws and regulations. 3. About Us: Does the lender post an about us page? If not, this could be a red flag. In other words, the lender should take pride in its history, its vision, and its mission statement. An about us page is an opportunity for your lender to tell you a little bit about themselves. If you dont see it, then what are they hiding? On the other hand, if you do see an about us page, go check it out. How long have they been in business? Where are they located? Do they post a phone number, and do they provide contact information? What are their policies and philosophies? Reading the about us page can tell you tremendous information about the lender. 4. Popularity: Take your lenders website address, and plug it into [http://Alexa.Com ]Alexa.Com. Alexa is a tool, created by the folks at Amazon, to evaluate traffic on the internet, and to provide a venue for visitors to post critiques of websites. Popularity is gauged by the Alexa rating, and the lower the number, the higher the rating. For example, our site, http://loanresources.net , as of todays date, has a 3 month average Alexa Rating of 86,517. This means that we are one of the top 100,000 websites in terms of traffic (and popularity). If we get down to lets say 50,000, then our traffic and popularity has increased. You can use this tool to evaluate the traffic of your prospective lenders. Our advice is this: Dont be blinded by popularity alone. There are plenty of competitive lenders and mortgage brokers out there with the highest integrity, which may not, necessarily, have a favorable Alexa rating. It doesnt mean that they shouldnt be considered. It is simply a measurement of traffic, and thats it. Dont miss out on what they have to offer. Just use popularity as one of the many tools at your disposal, when evaluating online lenders. 5. Reputation: There are a number of ways to evaluate a lenders reputation. Talking to friends, family, and associates, of course, is one way. Another method is to see whether or not the prospective lender is a member of the Better Business Bureau (BBB at [http://BBB.Com ]BBB.Com), and if there are any complaints on record filed against them. The BBB produces whats called a Reliability Report, and this report will provide you with corporate information (such as name, address, phone number), BBB membership information, whether or not the lender is a participant of the BBB Online program, along with a complaint history, and each complaints final resolution. The report also states the overall rating that they give the lender. Remember we discussed earlier, that popularity is not everything? Heres a prime example. Youd be surprised how many popular lenders, may in fact carry a rather lengthy BBB Reliability report filled with a variety of complaints. Again, just use your good, common sense, and consider reputation alongside all other factors. Also, if you see something on the reliability report that may be concerning you, talk to your prospective lender, and see if they can give you a reasonable explanation for what happened. 6. Short-Form: Complete an online short form application, and within minutes, several competitive loan offers could be making their way to you. Consider the short form application, when evaluating the lender. Is it short indeed, or are they asking you for way too much information? Be expected to share some basic information about yourself, such as name, phone number, salary information, etc., but never disclose what you feel is too personal or compromising, such as a social security number, credit card numbers, etc. Does the short-form make sense, is it well organized, and is it simple for you to follow and understand? This is important, because if the form is easy to complete, the lender may be saying that their whole loan process is simple and easy. On the other hand, if the form is arduous and complex, what does that tell you? So, evaluate your comfort level with the context of each lenders short form application online. 7. Points, Fees, Terms, and Rates: After you complete the online short-form, prospective loan offers will almost instantly be making their way to you. These preliminary loan offers will present you with important information about the points, fees, terms, and rates being offered. This, of course, is the nuts and bolts of what you are evaluatingThis is the dollars and cents of your preliminary loan offers. Obtain several offers, and compare them to each other. Who offers the best savings? Who seems too low to believe? Who is way too high to consider? Check the current rates and see how these offers compare. Weve got a RateWatch set up at our website, or, you can find other resources from any search engine. 8. Communication: After youve obtained several loan offers, it will be time to talk to your prospective lenders over the phone. Do not fear this process. Remember, you are the buyer of this product, and you are in the drivers seat. Think of it as an interview, and you are in charge. Ask some good questions, and see if you are comfortable with the relationship forming. How does the lender strike you over the phone? Is it someone that you feel you could do business with, or, does the conversation seem forced and uncomfortable? Use the phone call to evaluate the relationship, and to obtain useful information. Do not make an immediate decision. Talk to 3 or 4 lenders, and then take a pause, and evaluate what youve learned. Use your instincts to gauge who you worked well with, and who might present challenges down the road. Weve enjoyed providing this information to you, and we wish you the best of luck in your pursuits. Remember to always seek out good advice from those you trust, and never turn your back on your own common sense. Diet Pills And Safe Weight Loss: A Quick Guide To Diet Pills

By Ian Mason Serious diet pills are intended for people who are overweight to the point of being considered obese. Therefore, they are known as anti-obesity drugs; and should not be used for quick, temporary weight loss. Diet medications and supplements will not simply "melt" away all your unwanted fat and permanently solve any weight problem you might have. Most weight loss trials show that diet pills offer (at best) short term support. You should use diet pills in combination with a simple plan for weight loss through regular exercise and an improved diet. Diet pills such as Phentermine provide appetite suppression, helping you focus energy on enjoying healthy foods rather than feeling starved of junk food. Be careful of over the counter diet pills and other weight loss products. They are not regulated or controlled, and have been shown to contain ingredients that provide little or no benefits. Some have even been taken off the market because they pose a threat to your health. Use caution with "herbal" and "natural" diet pills. These types of weight loss pills are not guaranteed to be more healthy or efficient just because they are made with supposedly natural ingredients. Many herbal ingredients of diet pills have been connected with many health problems such as heart failure. Avoid diet pills advertised as "fat burning." Cardiovascular exercise is the best method for safely and directly increasing your metabolism; which will in turn naturally burn away fat! Thinking about buying diet pills? You should always have a talk with your doctor before using any new medication. Discuss all your options for weight loss, and make sure to ask about all the known health risks and side effects. When using any diet pill, you must follow the manufacturer's instructions, as well as your doctor's. This is for your own safety, as with any medication. Don't continue using diet pills for longer than 4-6 weeks without permission from your doctor. You should also talk to your doctor about when to stop. Potential Benefits of Diet Pills When considering short term use, the benefits of weight loss may include improving overall health and lowering the number of health risks one faces when overweight. Clinical studies have shown that some diet pills decrease blood pressure & cholesterol, fats (triglycerides) and lower help your body use blood sugar more efficiently (lowering insulin resistance) with short term use. However, no studies have yet been performed, and they are necessary in determining whether weight loss with long term use of diet pills will improve overall health. Ian Mason, owner of Shoppe.MD. Promote your Business with Good Writing: The Press Needs You

By Sarah McInerney Many business owners think the only way to promote their services is to advertise. But advertising can be expensive and sometimes even a complete waste of money. There are more effective ways to promote your business using the press, so let's get started with three of them. Articles Whatever your business, whether it's an insurance company, a fashion outlet, a firm of accountants, a fishmonger or a hairdresser, there is something you know that other people want to know. You are an expert in your field - be proud! In every town in every county there are dozens of magazines, newspapers and newsletters being published every week or month. And they need you to help them fill their pages. How about a monthly hair care advice column from the local salon owner? Or a financial advice feature from the accountants firm? Or even a 'fish dish of the week' feature from the fishmonger? The world is your oyster (or bass or lobster!). You have probably already seen these features in your local press. But you probably wondered how they got there. Well it's easy - ask! If you're ready prepared with a small library of articles that are well-written, aimed at the right audience, and about the right length, then chances are you will be accepted. This type of business promotion is one of the most effective I know. You are not paying for advertising space, and you are seen as a trusted and respected community business, able to give advice. At the end of your article you will be allowed to include your contact details, but of course, your article must be factual and cannot contain any - not a stitch - of advertising jargon. If it does, the publication will just get their advertising sales person to give you a call! News items Let's talk about 'press releases'. Something important is happening in your business and you want to tell the press about it. You want them to run you a story and maybe even send a photographer down. Well, the news is, they are only going to do this if you have something really newsworthy to report. So you have? Well that's great. Now you have got to get that across to the News Editor and hope he agrees with you. Why should they run your story? Your press release has got a lot of work to do. It has to be concise; it should get your message across in the first two lines; it needs to convince the news editor it's a story worth running; and it must be well written and topped and tailed with a proper title and clear contact details. Give-aways If you give you usually expect to receive. And in the case of press give-aways, you will certainly receive sack loads of replies! Promoting products through give-aways works! This is how: you offer to give away one of your products or services to an agreed number of readers. For the larger national titles, you usually have to give away a certain amount in retail value. But for the local press you can usually negotiate. In return the publication will run a feature on your product, include a photo and your contact details, and provide readers with an address to send their postcards to if they'd like to be in with a chance of winning. Sometimes the publication will offer to handle the responses for you or you may wish to have them all sent to you. Tip: you want all of the responses, not just the winners. These are very valuable to you! So you have your winners, and now you are ready to send them their free products. But you're not just going to send them their freebie are you? No! You are going to take this opportunity to promote your sales even more! Send them your brochure and money-off or discount vouchers for their next purchase, and you'll have them hooked. Next, let's talk about the runners-up. They didn't win, but they didn't lose either, because you're going to send them a discount voucher! Clever? Just wait until you see the responses you get! A Clear Message If you are not sure about writing your own articles or press releases, or dealing with the press, then you can seek the services of a freelance copy writer or press relations specialist. These people offer expert assistance and some specialise in dealing with small to medium sized businesses. They will be fully knowledgeable about writing for specific types of media and industries and their material will be trusted and accepted by the press. They will also have a substantial bank of useful contacts that will offer a priceless advantage to you. Whatever you submit to the press must be well written, to the point, have a clear message, and be in the correct style for the publication and of the correct length. It is no good sending an article about hairdressing to a business magazine! The message I must make clear is, this type of marketing is highly beneficial for any business, so use it wisely, and if you are not 100% confident that you can provide quality writing to the press, then find an expert who can! Sarah McInerney (Sarah Mac) is an experienced copy writer with a passion for well written, compelling work. Infertility Treatment for Both Men and Women

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Low_Jeremy] Low Jeremy It's hard to rear a child, let alone produce one! This is the status that each infertile couple has to face with every day of their lives not until they pursue infertility treatments. This normally is the classic story. An infertile couple will discover that they are incapable of conception. Then they would have to endure emotional stress because of the condition. They will decide on what to do and will end up at the door of a physician who they think will largely help solve their case. Then the physician will offer infertility treatment options and the story goes on while they seek probable procedures. Sometimes this story results to success and more often to failure. They say, infertility is a condition that is totally out of control of the couple. God gives people their wants if they need them. What if a couple wishes for a child and they were not supposed to have one? Will they get it? Well, no one knows actually. The best that the couples can do is to seek medical treatment. Nearly all infertile couples pursue medical intervention to help them with infertility. Here are some of the methods widely used in the industry. This infertility treatment has its focus on patients that are capable of ovulation, only their system is a bit impaired. Normally, infertility drugs are used to induce the stimulation of follicles in creating multiple egg cells. Though known for its effectiveness, ovulation induction still entails risks like the development of ovarian cysts and multiple childbirth. Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome is rare but once it develops it will cause symptoms like extreme pain around the pelvic area, chest and abdomen, weight gain and several others. An inexpensive form of infertility treatment is facilitated by means of infertility medications. The typical constituents of this option are the administration of Clomid and Femara, both are known for their efficiency in stimulating ovulation and setting the balance in hormones. For male patients, there are not as much options as there are in women. For the present, there still exists no technology that will alter the nature of the sperm inside the male's body. The nature we are pertaining to here is the natural state (including the abnormalities) of sperm samples retrieved from the patients. Sperm problems like inability of producing or lack of sperm cells, impaired motility and low sperm count are among the most common. Unfortunately, all that medical science can do is to make the most out of them. This content is provided by Low Jeremy and may be used only in its entirety with all links included. How to Talk so Your Partner Will Listen

By Michelle Vasquez If you're convinced that you and your partner don't communicate, you may have tried many ways to improve your communication with each other, with poor results. You may think that telling him over and over will do the trick. You may believe that raising your voice will get her to listen. All that results is a shouting match that ends up in hurt feelings and silence, or worse. You are, in fact, communicating. It's just not working like you want it to. Here is a list of ten ways to improve your interactions with your partner to increase your chances of a successful dialog with each other. Try them out and be patient with yourselves as you begin this journey. Remember, Michael Jordan didn't become a professional basketball player in a day. It took years of work. So it is with relationships. You learn and work everyday to become the people you want to be, together. Enjoy the journey. It's worth it! 1. Ask to schedule a time to talk. Wait for an answer and thank your partner for agreeing to a time. 2. Set a time limit. This should be no more than an hour, and preferably 15 to 20 minutes. If your partner realizes that you honor her/his time, she will be more willing to do this again (and perhaps for longer next time). 3. Stick to one topic per conversation. This is easier to do if you set a time limit and stick to it. Otherwise, you risk overwhelming your partner. If you want to talk about another subject, ask your partner if its all right. If not, ask to schedule another time to talk. 4. Timing is everything: Pick a time when you are both well rested and calm. It's counter-productive to grab your partner as soon as he walks in the door or when she is tired. 5. Use Assertive Language. These are phrases like:
"I would like _____________."
"I don't like ____________."
"I would prefer ___________."
"I feel uncomfortable about ___________." 6. Request what you would like instead of demand. Use questions like:
"How would you feel about __________?"
"What do you think about ___________?"
"Would you be comfortable with __________?"
"Would you consider ____________?" 7. Accept "no" as a valid answer. Your partner has a right to disagree and to say no. When you choose to argue with a "no" answer, youre saying that its not OK for your partner to disagree with you or to say no. 8. Ask for what you want, not what you dont want. This may seem confusing, but if you're requesting that (not demanding) your partner change behaviors, express it in terms of what you want to happen:
"I would like to make the housework more even. I would like to see you do more ___________. What are you willing to do?" 9. Respect yourself and your partner. Beware of statements that begin with "you." Unless the words "are the most wonderful person in the world," come next, "you" statements often are blaming, labeling, critical statements. 10. Express your appreciation about the things you like that your partner does. Appreciation is the glue of relationships. Your partner will listen to you easier when you give large doses of appreciation on a regular basis. Caution: it wont work if you only use appreciation when youre trying to get something done ("I love how you wash the dishes so thoroughly. Oh, look, theres a sink full now.") Remember, these are guidelines to help improve your communication skills. They may seem stiff and artificial at first. Keep trying them out and you will develop your own, more effective style as you practice with the people you care about the most! Michelle E. Vasquez is a Licensed Professional Counselor in San Antonio, TX. She has been in private practice since 2001. She specializes in working with couples with relationship difficulties. Michelle believes that most relationships can be saved, even if only one partner wants to work on improving the relationship. She enjoys helping singles learn how to find the love of their life by teaching them what to look for in a potential partner. She believes that self-growth is of primary importance, since it helps people get close to the people they care about the most. Gift Baskets - Create Simple Easy Gifts For the Person Who Has Everything!

By Donna Hamer Have you ever thought about giving a personalized Gift Basket? Is it just me or do you also get excited when you give a gift to your friends and family and you know they love it! The downside you give a gift and you just know they hate it! Unfortunately you cant always get it right because what seems right and the appropriate gift for you isnt always right and appropriate for the person you are buying for. Take my mother for instance, if you dont buy her a gift say for Mothers Day you will be in the bad books for weeks. Now before you agree with her, let me ask you this What do you give someone who has everything? If you could walk around this ladies house you would understand my problem! Well over the years I have learnt how to stay in her good books by creating something different and unique every year. I also like to make it a gift that I make, so its personal and comes from the heart. Yes you guessed it a personalized gift basket. Leading up to the occasion, I take some time to think about things that Mum has said she liked over the year and things that she has pointed out in a book that she might like. Then I go about looking for items that would fit into a theme that I can put together into a Basket. She loves glass bowls so I try to use a glass bowl as the basket for my gift and then fill it with items that she likes. It could be as simple as some pampering items or a night out to the movies such as popcorn, candies, a drink, chocolates and two movie tickets etc. Gift Baskets can be all shapes and sizes, you are only limited by your imagination and of course your budget. A gift basket doesnt have to be big and elaborate it can be something small. Presentation is the key to a stunning gift basket! I have always struggled with creative talent so when I discovered that making gift baskets was very simple, I became a talented person over night! Something I have found funny since I learnt how easy it was to create a Gift Basket is how many friends copy my ideas and give baskets to their friends. I give Gift Baskets for all occasions - from Christmas to Marriages, Arrival of a New Baby, Birthday Gifts for Boys or Girls, Leaving Party in fact the reasons are endless. For a boys birthday, how easy is it to get a bucket, spade and sand digging equipment. A cool towel, hat or cap (write their name on the hat to give it a unique look), a stick of sunscreen or zinc cream. Then wrap it up !! For a girl, they love lots of knick knacks or things they can make. Try putting together packets of beads in a container with compartments. Include some wire and hooks. Your local craft store can help you with the items required. You can create this Gift Basket for less than $15.00 and they love it ! 3 Facts Everyone Should Know About Stem Cells

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Emily_Clark] Emily Clark Cord Blood Cord Blood is the blood that remains in the umbilical cord and
placenta following birth.
Cord Blood is routinely discarded with the placenta and umbilical
cord.
The blood in the cord is a rich source of stem cells.
Stem cells are the building blocks of your blood and immune
system.
Stem cells have the ability to differentiate into other types of
cells in the body, and thus give rise to all the tissues, organs
and systems in the body.
The stems cells in a child's cord blood are genetically unique to
the baby and its biological family. Due to stem cells ability to differentiate into other types of
cell tissue in the body, treatments can be developed for diseases
such as Parkinson's, Alzheimer's and Diabetes to name a few.
Stem cells found in the cord blood are a valuable biological
resource that researchers can use to investigate the potential of
future applications for cord blood stem cells. Cord Blood Banking Cord Blood Banking is the process whereby umbilical cord blood
stem cells are saved for potential medical uses.
Cord blood banking includes the processes of collection,
processing and storing of the umbilical cord blood.
Collection involves drawing the cord blood from the umbilical
cord, using either the syringe or bag collection method, after
the umbilical cord has been clamped and cut.
Processing involves the testing of the cord blood to determine
whether it meets eligibility standards and removing and red blood
cells or plasma that will not be needed in transplantation.
Storage involves storing the cord blood unit in a vinyl or
plastic bag in which it is frozen in liquid nitrogen. There are two types of cord blood banks.
Firstly there are the family banks, which store the umbilical
cord for one's own family use.
Secondly, there are the public donor banks, which store the
umbilical cord blood for unrelated or non-family use - which is
public use.
Every parent has the option of saving their baby's cord blood for
their family use, while only a small number of people may be able
to donate their baby's cord blood stem cells. Cord Blood Stem Cells There are three sources of stem cells: bone marrow, peripheral
blood (that is the blood that circulates through the body) and
umbilical cord blood.
Cord blood stem cells, however, are different from other types of
stem cells.
By freezing these cells, any aging or damage to these cells is
prevented, that usually occurs later in life.
Umbilical cord blood stem cells are also more proliferate than
adult stem cells, such as those found in bone marrow. The information contained in this article is for educational purposes

Prescription Diet Pills

By Thomas Morva Those who plan to use diet pills need a doctors prescription before they can purchase these weight loss drugs. Due to their perceived side effects, doctors need to thoroughly examine the patient prior to issuance of these prescription diet pills. These types of diet pills or drugs are closely-regulated by the Food and Drug Administration in the United States. Examples of these drugs that need a doctors prescription are Orilistat, Phentermine and Meridian. Prescription diet pills are normally subjected to a battery of clinical tests to prove their safety and efficacy as well as to find out its potential health hazards and side effects. An example of the newly developed prescription diet pill is Xenical, which works in the intestinal tract. This drug is designed to decrease the bodys absorption of fat by as much as 30% during digestion. Studies show that those who use this prescription diet pill for a year can lose close to ten percent of their initial weight. However, a common side effect of this drug is diarrhea since fat cannot be digested by the body. It is important to follow a low fat diet while taking this prescription pill. Aside from blocking fat, these drugs also block the absorption of essential vitamins that are fat soluble. As such, those taking this type of diet pill will lack essential vitamins such as A, D, E, K and beta-carotene. Dieters should be advised to take vitamin supplements to address this problem. On the other hand, non-prescription diet pills or diet supplements may either be purchased online or over the counter. Since these pills require minimal approval from the FDA, they are often referred as weight loss supplements. Before you go to the nearest drug store to purchase prescription diet pills, be sure to bring the doctors prescription. Otherwise, you may opt to buy non-prescription drugs, commonly known as weight loss supplements.
